So I’m a dummy, I was rushing swapping out an accelator pump and snapped the outer ear for the accelerator pump arm. It’s the original for the car, carb# is 7042263.
I’m looking to grab an air horn from another carb to use on mine, what year or carb number air horns work?

Talk to Ray Klemm. Many times that type of breakage can be repaired.

Can save that by tapping back piece for 6-32 ? Or 8-32.
Run a allen head capscrew w/ washer and blue loctite. |

If it can be saved that would be great, I’m not sure how though?

Pull the roll pin out and tap for a bolt the same size as roll pin. When reassembling, tighten up till snug and back off a small amout. Let loctite set up over night.

Come on gang this isn’t that hard a fix.
At pain in the ass times like this I ask myself what if I where part of the crew of Apollo 13 , what could I come up with? Make a small steel L bracket that gets captured down by that carb mounting bolt. Shouldn’t take more the a hour or so if you have a jig saw with a metal blade and few drill bits . But make an accurate card board template first . Remember that when you bend that flat steel into a L shape you will loose some length, probably like 5/16 of a inch worth so make it longer then your template by a good amount and cut it back once bent . The last thing you should do is drill out the carb mounting bolt hole. When you drill the hole to pass the carb bolt thru make it a little bigger by 3/32 or so to give you some adjustability in setting the side clearance to the pump arm. Use a flat washer under that carb hold down bolts head so it does not spin the bracket you made when you tighten it up. Also make sure if you use this washer that the carb bolt is still long enough to not strip out on you due to only engaging 2 or 3 threads in the intake. Make sure also that this steel bracket is no taller then what the stock one was so that you have no air cleaner base clearance issues.

When i bought one of my Formulas the original carb was already broken in this manner and had a screw in it and was working as received up till i replaced the carb.
It was a common small machine screw

I fixed one years ago, JB welded and small machine screw if I remember correctly.
Otherwise, what’s the number of your air horn, I can look for one

For now JB Weld to the rescue, I’ll figure out my plan moving forward over the winter but want to burn as much fuel as possible before the snow fly’s.
