That check is used to keep the bots that were shutting down the site out.

Many other sites I visit on the net also use that same safety scanning tool to weed out the nefarious attempts to infiltrate a site. You'll also notice that this site hasn't been shut down since the owners have installed this security measure.

I have also noticed that after I've logged in for the last few weeks/month, I don't have to hit the square with a cursor any longer. It seems that the security system has my IP address and it now does a scan automatically.

In addition to the above I have noticed that if I clean out my interweb search history that I no longer have to be verified every time I change pages.

taking the extra 30 seconds to log in is a blessing compared to what it used to be.
Thanks to Admin for fixing

I'm getting kicked off the site and having this pop up every ten minutes. Have to re-verify to get back on. 4 times so far in the past 45 minutes. PITA.

I wonder if it works w/ a dog or cats paw. lol. You’ll still be screwing the man.
So the bots don’t have to click on anything, why not have a bots click here button.

That is a hassle.
Probably need to use a different browser.
I have never tried the App

The bots do mass joins by program , and usually spoofed or shell account IP's.
That's what the Captcha is diagnosing in it's cycle.

Very rarely do I have to check mark the human box.
But at least 1 out of 10 clicks it will recycle the Captcha.

Is it possibly because of different operating systems?

For me, using my Windows 11 machine works fairly well, but using the old Windows 7 system on this site is impossible.

Same address.

I agree Jon. I use a Windows 7 computer to be logged in here. The CLOUDFLARE app
keeps me out for 10 mins sometimes. Casual reading using the phone no problem.

What browser do you use?
Is it up to date?

I think the browser has a lot to do with it. Most browsers now have some form of 'security' settings. The verification uses a cookie or something for the browser to know if you're verified. Maybe the cookie setting is expiring requiring a new verification?

Mine seems to need renewed about every 10 minutes or so, depending if I'm actually reading/using the forum. I usually do other stuff in different tabs. When I come back it needs verified.

My experience with Windows 11/Edge sounds typical.... the verification repeats about every 10 minutes and I have to click the box about 1 in 10 iterations.

I like this MUCH better than having the site shut down.

I understand the software actually "runs" inside the browser and has to communicate with a server that is making the determination. So a lot going on.

Maybe older browsers don't let the software run well?

Adds about 3 seconds to logging on with my IPhone more than worth it the way things were going.

The credit card clearing house we use requires Chrome, so we use Chrome. It is up to date as far as it can be using Windows 7.

I have learned to save any post that I plan to make BEFORE hitting the "Submit Reply" button. Sometimes the site ignores the submit, plus logging me out !

At least it doesn't ask me to update my password !!!

"Sorry - invalid password. Your new password must of consist of at least 8 characters, including 1 each of the following:
(1) Upper case letter
(2) Lower case letter
(3) Symbol
(4) Number
(5) Hieroglyph
(6) Musical note
(7) Feather from a hawk
(8) Drop of unicorn blood

If your new passwork is approved, we have the right to change it at our discretion without notifying you.
