Sad news.
He was on many Pontiac facebook groups under the name Bill Bailey. He had recently posted parts for sale in the last few weeks, crankshafts, pistons, guideplates etc

I was just thinking about reaching out to Ken to see how he was doing. I google'd his shop and this topic came up. So depressed.
Ken was literally the heart and soul of the original PY Forums and a major contributor for many years. He graciously helped thousands of Pontiac enthusiasts for probably 20 years. He was also fiery, opinionated and extremely entertaining. I guess he was only in his mid 70's? Anyone know what happened? Sigh.......

RIP. I printed out all of his guides to building Pontiac engines. He will live on in my next build as he does in my current one!

Damn....that's sad.
I saw a billet 4.5" Pontiac crank, with 3" mains, and 2.1" rod journals, on FB Marketplace. It was in Florida. I texted the seller, it was Ken. He had closed the shop, was selling off stuff he'd never used. He replied twice, then...nothing. now i know what happened...he said he was selling out, moving to Phillipines with his fiance'. He was the most die-hard Pontiac racer and engine builder/machinist you could find. He did it all. Remember he had the cut down 3" mains kit, to put 428/455 cranks in a 400 block ? He did before/after strip e.t. testing on his own cars, worth 2-3 tenths. Track proven. He also said you need 240 cfm flow minimum to play. What a guy. He spun out at Maple Grove Pontiac meet and didnt hit the wall, the crowd applauded. RIP Ken aka PONTIAC DUDE!! |
