I like the homemade brake cooling ducts! I wonder if that Firebird is a factory 4 speed? Maybe that is why the console has the home made bits, to hide the auto shift opening?

Could you even get a 4 speed on a base or esprit 75 Bird?

The sales literature for 1975 says no manual transmission models available for sale in California.
Car is proposed to be California Native, and still has smog pump eqpt.
So it's a conversion to manual.
Converted to 4 wheel disc brakes.
No cloth seat option in 75 , and those are not 73-74 color pattern . Those are handmade.

49 state , 3spd manual was standard on Firebird and Espirit.
4spd optional (49 state)

Good car with good equipment , nice body and interior.
Probably worth the 15k price

A lot of people watching this 69 GTO Judge 4-speed in NC at $83K BIN. Looks like a frame off, and aside form the sticker on the air cleaner, the steering wheel and shifter knob, it looks stock.

Nice looking Judge but price seems out of line with the lower quality of resto. so much incorrect stuff and poor panel alignment.

missing the trunklid chrome, trunk emblem crooked, black headliner, steering wheel, aftermarket AC, wrong master, wrong coating on booster, no cowl seal, wrong cowl vent covers, trunk paint, body color floors, polished gas tank, wrong tailpipes, white letter tires, incorrect fender emblems, air cleaner sticker, valve covers etc

Not trashing the car, it looks very solid and clean, just priced like a high quality correct resto when it is definitely not.

2020 Camaro convertible 2SS disguised as a 69 Trans AM at $46K in WV. There's a lot of body work on this car to fit the 69 pieces. The interior isn't crisp, but A for effort overall.

The Green 69 Judge
Pretty sure it is the same car that was RNM on BaT about a year ago. +/-

With VIN X'd out and no PHS posted or trim tag - it is likely the same car to keep savvy folks from seeing it's previous vetting on BaT.

None of the colors are factory issue and it wasn't a Vinyl Top car.
But was a real Judge iirc
Maybe Orange with Black interior originally.
Weird color package choices to convert it to.

I'm also thinking this is the car with the weird 68/69 buffalo block.
Garden variety block with odd code/big car VIN from 2 different year models. iirc

Consignment guy on BaT got in contact with me after the auction.
Wanted advice on what course to take with car to get into the 60's or 70's with it.
Told him to just let the owner worry about it , walk away.

Curious, was the consignment guy thinking that by emphasizing/de-emphasizing things in the description, the car could get to a better price? Edit: Never mind; after reading the comments on BaT, I understand better, now (my head wasn't in gear). Indeed, there's a lot wrong with this car, and that's a sad thing.

My favorite quote (of yours) in those comments:

Quote:
Somehow not surprising you don’t know the cylinder head from the exhaust manifold.
ROFL

One would think, though, that someone in the market to spend upward of $70K on a car would either already be familiar or would do his due diligence.

The real question for me is whether the car could be returned to matching the build sheet (sans the numbers matching on the engine), and what that might cost. (Not my era, so I'm not qualified to even make a WAG on that.)

The $46,5000 was full max price if someone wanted to put it back Orange and remove the vinyl top.
Black interior and underbelly color change.
For non-numbers car, they would be borderline on the finished product.

Whoever changed the car so drastically must have been replicating a car from their past.
They spent a lot of money de-valuing the car.

Never did get the casting date from intake , but he took pics of every other square inch of the intake.
It had the right casting number.
Never got carb ID , but it's a Carter so definitely not a correct RamAir carb.
The 48 heads are dated correct for the car.

It's a decent solid car.
Was in Virginia Beach then , in New Bern NC now.
Must be a prospective flipper with extremely high hopes at 83k

The ROI would never warrant a color change. As long as the engine is not NM, the colors make less of a difference. Interesting they painted it green. I love it and there are many more orange cars. It may not be a lot of things, but what it is, is a Judge 4-speed. You could prolly talk it down based on what you guys unearthed on it.

77 Trans AM Y81 W72 at $3K RNM in Iowa. 1 of 549 and has a NOM that doesn't run. Very rusty and a money pit IMO. A lot of people watching this car, so we'll see.

Wow - someone spent a lot of money to ruin that 2020 Camaro.

70 GTO convertible with a NOM 455 in Texas at $65K BIN. The ad states this car is a real Judge in the header, which it's not, and I can't stand that. You have to read through it to know it's a clone. It's pretty obvious to us it's not real, but the novice may be fooled. This is a pretty car, and all the money that was spent to clone it up to a Judge, made it worth less IMO. It would take very little effort to turn this car back into a plain GTO convertible. Striking color combo.

68 GTO "Hurst" in Wisconsin at $29K BIN. Bolting a Hurst emblem on the trunk lid doesn't make it a thing, but whatever. Runs, but not well and has an exhaust leak. The car does have a lot of good things. The interior is nice. Not sure of its history, but Wisconsin is known for rusty cars. Lots of things to negotiate.
