FinGTO,

I don’t think the messaging notifications are working, so I just wanted to let you know I sent you a reply to your PM via PM

All,

Down to the last set!

Will not be making more without preorders of at least 10 sets. The pricing has skyrocketed on the materials.

After this last set finds a home I will start a list and if when I get 10 preorders I’ll move forward with making another batch. At current prices they will be an additional $70 +/- $10 a set.

Big thanks to all that have purchased and are running them now.

That’s 146 sets not including the 4 sets I have set aside for me out there!

On to the next big idea!

Thanks all,
Stuart “Stan” Landreth

I am late to this thread, and didn't seem to find a definitive answer. I am interested in doing the LS lifters in my 461 stroker. What is the maximum lift I can have with these lifters? What lifters are supposed to be used?

Joog,

A lot of factors come into play to determine maximum lift such as base circle critical dimensions and rocker arm ratio. I attached a couple drawings giving some info to get you an idea.

If you are after a lot of lift this system is not for you.

Thanks,

This is going in my street strip car. cam with 1.5 lift should be .540/.563 and 1.65 should be .594/.619 Or slightly less if I can get a custom one ground

Joog,

.563 @ 1.5 ratio (.3753 lobe lift) will be definitely pushing the limits.

Have one set left if you want to try….

Thanks,

Zippy,

That are machined from 4340 prehard steel. This material typically measures between 30 and 35 Rockwell C (HRC). I measured a set of original small black Chevy retainers and they measured at between 31 and 32.

Just as a curiosity, the original LS lifter trays are made of nylon. It’s not about strength, it’s about wear resistance.

Thanks,
Stuart “Stan” Landreth.

This has been quite a thread so far and have been taking it all in, making notes, copying, etc
Am a bit of a 'late bloomer' as far as interest in hyd roller sets ups for the street.
So, with that said, am curious what anyone thinks so far of using a hyd roller on a street car?
some questions-

1 has anyone put any real miles say, 10,000-20,000 or more on any of these set ups in their Poncho?
2 what problems have you had (if any)?
3 what would like to see done differently, what parts may be needed?
4 any strip or autocrossing, road racing time with these hydral set ups?

Let's evaluate together, what has been done so far, what may need to be changed or improved, etc. for the benefit of everyone.
thanks

Brief machine shop update on my goings on. XR288HR cam on a 114* LSA checks out on the base circle and has been confirmed by my shop so I will be proceeding with the HT2148 retrofit. The block is a post 1970 455 with no dog bone clearancing needed. I will provide updates as the process continues.

I also find it strange that no one on PY is commenting on running a 2148 lifter with all the restraint systems sold here?

I have just recently got my car back together. Engine in, all accessories mounted and hood installed. Just in the test drive phase, since I also completely rebuilt the rear end. I’m running the Kauffman 230°/236° on a 112 with .510 and .512 lift for my 1.5 Harland Sharpe rockers. And yes, I’m running the American made HT2148’s. Just kinda easing into it. Making sure everything is tight, no leaks etc. So far, she’s running pretty good. Great actually. I’m wanting to get about 500 miles on her before testing her limits. Make sure rings are fully seated. Since this is my first build, maybe I’m not addressing what you want to know. Let me know any specific questions and I’ll answer them as best I can.

I’m guessing there is not a lot of feedback on setups because most of us don’t put a lot of miles on , others have things in process, while others like me have plans to install this setup in the future but the timeline is a way out.

Anyone look into the Hylift 2281 narrow oil band lifter?

The only other lifter I looked at was the Gaterman. The oil band looked good and I liked that it had 4 oil fill holes.
