70 GTO Judge tribute (real GTO) Restomod at $80K BIN in Maryland. 440HP LS3 with 3:90 gears. I have a friend with 67 GTO Restomod that easily has over $100K into it with an LS6. It seems the objective is to build a car that rides and handles as well as a modern car, only over the top fast. I drive a 2010 2SSRSS Camaro 6 speed as my daily driver. Pushing 95K with hail damage and a few cuts and bruises, that car has been amazingly reliable and I love it dearly. The point being, it has 426 factory HP LS3 with computer assisted handling... it's nice, and fast as hell with airbags. This GTO looks very nice, but what kind of ride do you think it would have with 3:90 gears? Again, nice tribute, but a hard sell at that price when you can get a stock car in beautiful condition for much less. If I were int he market for something new to put in the garage (I'm not), I think I'd target building a 67-69 Firebird Sprint clone with 3 on the tree and a bench seat. Not stock, but super cool.

64 Tempest wagon in Illinois at $27K. The ad only refers to the engine as "the engine." My guess is they don't know anything about the engine. You couldn't build this car for the asking price. A good deal IMO and the car could be used for a lot of different businesses.

73 Formula 400 Firebird project at $25K in Texas. This is the worst kind of car to negotiate the price IMO. The owner has shelled out a lot to fix the rusted floor pans, so they'll try and recoup that. If you started with a no rust car, that expense wouldn't be factored in. If I wanted this car, I'd start at half the asking, but to be real I'd be looking for a deal.

70 GTO in Florida at $59K BIN. Interesting it was born white with a blue interior and factory stripes. They really did this car dirty by painting it red, adding the Judge wing and stickers with poser Ram Air hood decals. If they had just restored it as a white with blue interior, it would be worth the asking IMO.

64 GTO convertible shell at $5K with a reserve in NC. The trunk is surprisingly clean compared to the trunk lid. Ruff. Not enough there to justify the asking IMO.

Seriously considering getting one of these Solstice cars in the next couple of years. The hardtops are cool, but double the price. 2006 Solstice in 25K miles in Florida at $11K BIN.

Very strangely optioned. I have only seen a couple with manual windows and no fog lights, but they were the base model price leaders. To see the optional Automatic trans, A/C, Traction Control/ABS, and cruise control is very odd.

I hope the new owner takes the eyebrow decals off.
That's a great color combo by itself . |
