Default Kentucky Derby

Anyone else besides me ever watch the Derby? Being raised around horses I try to keep up as best I can. Anyone have any favorites? I'm going with Renegade

23-1 longshot Golden Temple wins. And the first female trainer to win the Derby

I was pulling for 6 speed. The reason is obvious.

I thought it was a pretty exciting race. Started at the back of the pack. Wove his way thru and on the front straight away came around on the outside and took the lead for the win. It was too bad the gray horse got spooked, reared and fell on its back before the start of the race. I think that made all the horses anxious and jumpy at the start of the race.

My wife was a manager at Churchill Downs for a while back in the 90's. One of the worst jobs she ever had. The most rich folks treat the staff like they owned them, like indentured servants or slaves. Lots of straws got wiped on body parts before those mint juleps got served.

Yep; the only thing worse than a drunk are drunk who think they are better than you. Spent too many years pouring them off aircraft before the Derby, then having to pour them back on the aircraft after the Derby. I’ve lived in the Louisville area most of my life, yet have NEVER been to the Derby; not planning to go, either.
