I'm working up to changing the control arms on my 66. The bushings are shot for the lower ones. Changing to boxed ones. Upper will be done later to boxed.
Also contemplating on putting in the 421SD with tri-power. And yes. It's period correct for the 66 GTOs but came out of a 66 2+2. Tho I'm thinking of trying the tri-power on the 400 already in it.

Sent out my 62 GP (425A, 4 speed car) for a heart transplant. Found an original 11B engine and finished building it a year and a half ago. Somewhere around 500 hp. Haven't had time to do it myself....... so off to the shop. They are only doing the swap and hooking everything back up. Hopefully get it back within a few weeks, then I'll install the carbs Mike Wasson built and the distributor that was done by Sun Tuned. The tri power engine that is being removed will be for sale in the classifieds in the near future.

Got the new kick panels yesterday. painted them with matching interior paint. Today I clay bared the car. Waiting for warmer weather to shoot the carpet with interior dye. Want to refresh the carpet, and the garage is attached to the house. Want to be able to open the garage doors so that the smell dosen't get inside the house.

Removed the back half of my exhaust system to make way for the new dual muffler setup. M18 reciprocating saw made quick work of that. Reinstalled the alternator which I had to remove to get the fuel pump out.

Drove down to a neighboring town about a half hour away to see a large Cars-n-Coffee. No dice: "Evento Cancelado". This I found from a driver of a hotted up Renault - schedule is on Instagram/Facebook. Dammit.

The ride back was nice until I spied clouds of a weird purplish-blue color to the West.

Uh-oh.

Traffic was being held up by some jackass doing half the limit (not uncommon here, 1/3 do not have insurance). Then the rain started - misty first, and then the shiat came down, as was the top.

&^%$.

Finally got to a gas station and raised the top. Also the wiper motor decided it was Sunday and stopped working. Got home, dried off the interior and will now sort out the wiper issue.

Finished the install of my ‘64 wood wheel. The one that only came with the rim/4 spokes. Had to fabricate the stainless hub. And fit the horn plunger that contacts the brass horn ring and the spring washer. Horns blows!

Stopped by the body shop on Friday to see how things are coming along. He repainted the front bumper to fix the damage from the cars and coffee incident. I also had them improve the front end sheetmetal alignment and fix a few chips and dings which included repainting the driver's side 1/4. He ended up reclearing about 1/2 the car. Overall it looks good. They kept the car pretty clean and matched the paint well. Just a few little things to fix before I take it home.

I'm disappointed to hear you had to do this. I was planning to run a transverse muffler with my Tanks Inc fuel tank. On the other hand it appears that you have saved me the effort of trying to put that puzzle together.

I don't remember ever seeing which version of their tank you have. Do you have the notched version?

Well, I wouldn't say that I "had" to do it. I'm certain it could be done with the transverse setup but it was just making the job more difficult. Plus, even with the access door, it will make maintenance easier. And I still need to pull the axles to do the rear brake upgrade so that will be easier.

Now, about the tank, I have the 20.5 gal non-notched tank. Even though it was really close to the transverse muffler, it did clear the tail pipes easily. I'm pretty sure I'll be OK with the new tail pipes but there is a chance they may not clear. Neither Pypes or Tanks inc could tell me for sure. I found some pictures and videos that I think have the Tanks 20.5 gal tank and the Pypes dual muffler exhaust so I've got my fingers crossed. We'll see.

Very nice power bandwidth between peak torque and peak power! A/F ratio is close to perfect across the board.

So this is a 461 now and not 469 cid?
Also the times in your sig are for the 469 (old engine)?

Should be a nice improvement if so!

Nice job ..... Folks can see the worth of a professional builder vs assembler, in this case a professional assembler.

Troy's Dyno has always been spot on. I'm glad you'll finally see the benefits from the money you spent for performance.

469 was an iron headed engine that lost a factory cast rod after many years of racing.

461 is a stroked 400 with aluminum heads.... Both posted Dyno sheets are from that same engine. The second builder basically blueprinted the engine and made everything correct

Got the Goat back. As my wife was dropping me off at the shop she said "I feel bad for them because they have do deal with your nitpickiness."

I'm honestly impressed with how clean they kept it. The original shop that painted it were slobs by comparison. There's a little haze over the engine compartment, but nothing a good wipe down won't fix. I know you're supposed to wait with new paint, but I hated seeing it without the decals on the 1/4 so I put a fresh set on this evening. Yes, that's a level in the reflection.
