noticed some i see are flat as a schoolgirl and some are curved for rigidity.
Which is the right type for my application?

Is that an 80 amp alternator? Looks like standard size alternator?
The 80 amp ones I have seen are bigger than normal size alternators. Also usually used an idler pulley on passenger side. Pic of a 73 bracket: (#6 in front of alternator)

That is just a rando pic from the internets.
I don't know what my TA came with but I have an 80a on there now. I've seen both types of brackets however and this one is more wobbly than I would like and had to put spacers to line up with the belts. That curved one looks like a better design.

Mike's pic has the idler pulley for adjustment.
You would need all of those brackets to make the PS bolt up also. (U shaped bracket at bottom) Plus the idler pulley stuff on left side of pic.

The brackets with the pulley are what is on my 1976 Firebird. The alternator is fixed and the pulley is adjusted to take the tension. 80 amp is different than the others.
