I thought that chipped zero happened around 1972?

Originally it was thought so.
But all of my data shows it happened in mid/late year 1970.

Some time in 1973 or so it was fixed or changed to a good zero.
(think I have one eun with the 2nd zero having a 'C')

Your POP says 0475581 which is correct so the engine code YD on it is wrong.

The 'c' is because the 1st zero is chipped and it looks like a partial zero or 'C'.

So on your engine it probably has the chipped zero.

Also on your POP which is Canadian, it has the engine code and the eun like the earlier year POP had. I think the US POP did not show it in 1970. (and on)

Which is why I thought it was a 400 2bbl, since a US made car would not have that info.

P-O-P is showing the YU 350/2 bbl code. A mid-April stamped EUN should not have the "chipped 0". I show that happened in the (6xxxxx range (early June, maybe late May). We need a picture of it, but number falls in line with build. VVS almost always has typing errors. Also, the trim tag would be nice.

Not sure why some continue to refer to the ( character as a C. Even GM of Canada's record keeping seems to perpetuate this.

Have examined hundreds of late 70 model cast Pontiac blocks & have yet to see a first character that the ( rose all the way to the peak or curled around at the bottom.
