Not sure why some continue to refer to the ( character as a C. Even GM of Canada's record keeping seems to perpetuate this.
Have examined hundreds of late 70 model cast Pontiac blocks & have yet to see a first character that the ( rose all the way to the peak or curled around at the bottom.
