How can I tell if the radiator in my 68 is original? It’s a 50k car and still has a lot of original parts. I have already replaced it with a cold case but wonder if it is worth keeping

should have a metal tag
if you find one report what it is and report what options your car has

The metal tag will look like this.
At the bottom is the part number. The single number to the far right is the year The month is on the tank itself. This shows D for April. Car was built first week of May

Here are some pics- no tag but does have the indentations in the tank. Might be scrap, might be gold…

This is from 68 service manual:
Yours looks to be 'UO' ? Or is it 'UQ' ?

Thank you for this info- I will have to look closer. The car is a 400 4 speed car so it looks like UQ is the correct code and it could very well be it. Either way it does look like it is worth keeping.

Look for a stamping on the other tank and if it's IL, have it restored and place this tag on it.
