Make sure not over 12 volts.

All my cars run 13.6 to 14.2 volts, including the one with a PI dizzy.

Interesting you said this. PI had me take readings while running at battery and cap +. ,which was 14.61 volts at battery and 12.45 at cap +. They said I have a resistor wire in place and should run power from the fuse box to dizzy. Will try that this weekend.

Default Power wire
There may be something to that.
I run power straight from fuse box to HEI cap.
Wire is oversized and soldered ends for longevity.

I strongly suggest a SPST relay using the current dizzy wire to trigger it.
