Pro tip, for most old school front chassis. When needing to get lower control arms off.
Buy one of these.

Take the top clamp and bottom clamps off.
Remove the shock. Put the bolt to the spring compressor down threw the shock hole, place the bottom clamp onto the lower part of the spring and thread the bolt into it.
I just use a 1/2' impact to compress the spring.
Thoroughly grease the threads on the puller shaft.
Easy, but still use safety glasses.
