I have 5 matching 14x6 rally 2 wheels that I am most likely going to clean up a bit and look to sell. The markings are: inner rim, 14x6 1...2 ...G ...Made in USA JK. M9
The markings near the valve stem read: 2...7 JL. So I have three questions for the experts here,
why are the letter codes different and which one is correct to list when selling?
What car(s) do these fit?
What would be a reasonable price to list these for?
They all have some surface rust, nothing bent or misshapen,lug holes look true.

List them using the JL code at the valve stem. The wheels are early 1970 14x6 rally IIs that were shown to come on 1970 Tempest. M9 indicates they were made in 1969. Lug spread should be 5 on 4 and 3/4. and will fit firebirds and tempest , Lemans and GTO as well as GPs from 1969 and after.

As I have understood it, the inner markings are for the inner assembly - before the wheel was assembled with the desired offset;
The marking at the valve stem indicates the final product, which include manufacturer and line, date, and wheel code.

Thanks that makes sense, seems like I have July 2nd for 70 GTO etc wheels. In my previous message I reversed the 2 and 7. I would like to see these sell to someone looking for a matched set for their car.

As soon as I clean them up a bit I may post them for sale.

Production of JL coded rally II's was from very early July '69 till 11/25/69.
Only in the Tempest line, the JL coded 14x6 was used. It was originally installed on drum brake as well as disc brake builds w "two piece" rotors same as used with previous 14x6 JA coded Rally II's.

Typically, nice condition date matching sets of JL's dated from early Sept of '69 through 11/25/69 bring the most, as typ sought out for serious restorations on early '70 Judges.

On 11/25/70, the first 14x6 JT Rally II's were stamped. Depending on assembly plant, it took a while for the one piece rotors & JT's to be phased in.
The JT 14x6 Rally II continued to be stamped up into early July of '70, then a few more runs were made before the Fall of '70 UAW Strike.

Ok thanks, I guess I had it wrong on the GTO vs Tempest....appreciate the info. When i do attempt to sell them I want to be as accurate as I can .

Tempest, LeMans and GTO are A-body´s, either could have used the JL wheels.
