Should we put a pressure relief valve in the oil line? What is the issue with high oil pressure? I think Tony wants this thing to be bullet(billet) 2500HP proof!

I believe that the biggest issue with your engine is probably heat. I am hoping with our improved water jackets and no siameze water jacket it helps with the sealing. All I know is his traction control better be hooked up.

Anyone have the torque numbers for NA on these engines? I would say that is a better number since these engines dont have the compression or the header sizes to represent true horsepower?

I am thinking this dude is going to make big torque N/A.

It is my understanding that with BB turbos you need a restrictor in the oil feed -- best talk to manufacture on that one --

We’ll give Turbonetics a call and see what they recommend.
Are you running inline filters on your turbos? Which brand?

Ball-bearing turbos do not need as much oil pressure to lube the bearings as standard journal bearing turbos. Turbo manufacturer should have a recommendation of what to use for feed line (including filters and/or restrictors.)

Question for Travis. What do you use for boost control?

We run Turbonetics 91mm BB Thumpers, and have never had an issue. We also run over 100 lbs of oil pressure, we use Royal Purple Nitro 50 engine oil. It is the cat's meow, for sure! Our oil inlet lines are unrestricted -4AN. Never an oiling problem, no turbo problems at all.

We use the boost control that's built into the XFI system, it works great. And yes Curt, I do control boost. A little bit. LOL!! In all honesty, I think we can make close to 50 pounds with these units, then we're going to run out. We leave with a lot, and try to make boost as quickly as we can, and use clutch, gear ratio, timing, and fuel to control power. With an engine that's only 480 inches with two big turbine wheels, we have learned that you are fooling yourself trying to control boost as a means of controlling power. We have to make boost quick and keep it there. Otherwise, the engine "falls off the turbo", and it's hard to get it to recover. If the engine were larger, or we had smaller turbine wheels like a GT55, we could probably utilize boost control a little more.

On the flip side -- I do use gt55 turbine wheels on my 88s and control it with an AMS 1000 -- PROB APPLES AND ORANGES with an auto vs a stick . I dont know if the extra 45 ci makes a lot of difference? And its to damn much work swapping convertors - so we control boost a lot
