to see if magic man Marcella can make a 1000 hp with e heads on mikes 541. there already has been 2 smaller engines that made 998. 481 and 499 ci. so i hope he can find 2 hp in 60 and 42 cubes.

Chris,
Exactly! I was at the track and after first time trail, customer comes up to engine builder and asks why his engine does not make as much HP as engine builder's engine. They go around around, final engine builder pulls the engine from his car and gives it to customer and takes customer's engine and puts it in his car. Next time trail engine builder again runs faster than customer. Lets just say you could fry an egg on customers head.

I'm trying to figure out what's more painful. Slamming my hand in a car door, full swing..... or making an e-head engine a max effort n/a piece... LOL

Have at it boyz!!

I was only thinking of this because Mike L. is trying to break through this barrier as He and I are working on his stuff now. I thought to myself, ya know I have never seen a 1000 hp e head dyno sheet but I hear of it all the time.
That's why the post.

Chris , this was post #90.
You don't know this but there is a few here that like to use 1000 hp H head as a stick to beat on other cyl head camps and the 1000 hp E head gets referenced a lot and is made to seem that there is many, at least that's how I take it
The funny part is those people cant produce a sheet that has 1000 anywhere on it.

I wanted to see for real how many have truly made over 1000 hp with E heads.

Of course I'm biased, after all it is a 1969 Firebird, that is all, now back to the scheduled head thread.
Bringing this bad-ass Firebird back to the top! I don't care what heads you like, or what camp you're from, this car is the bomb!

Im don't trust chassis dynos, but even at 900+ would calculate to 1000 flywheel but I don't race dynos or calculators (actually I don't race at all right now) car is not legal for sub 8.50s I just need to find a ex Comp car that is 1000# lighter
