So, while I'm cutting and buffing out the paint on the Bandit, Nick is fabbing up some cool air ducts for the turbo compressor inlets, They utilize the existing cut-outs in the front bumper.

I'm also adding a temperature/humidity sensor from a Mack truck air intake so I can monitor weather conditions. Utilizing Holley's software I can add a math channel to my tune file and have it spit out real time density altitude based on this sensors readings and my input of track elevation. Bandit will be it's own weather station. Pretty cool!

Hope you have enough cash to purchase another set. I did the air scoops "down low", (copying the Olds 442 1966 & 1967 Ram Air cars, but I had the air feeding a circular Ram Air "Box". https://www.ramairbox.com/ The air cleaner had a filter. I was amazed with how much road trash the scoops collected and transferred to the Air Box. A cup-full at times. In your case I see no filtering system prior to the Turbocharger compressor blades. Maybe you have some screening that was not visible in the pictures. Hate to see a new set of Turbos trashed and needing a rebuild minimum because you killed your turbos. Big Chief got his turbos for free from Precision Turbos (so if the Oklahoma grit kills them) he can get another set. Food for thought. Tom V.

Sooo, The car has been down for a good part of the year since Drag Week 2021 and our lifter demise. Upon tear down and inspection of the block we elected to machine up a new block as we had found a small crack on the parting line of one of the cylinders that experienced a little interference with the piston and needle bearings from the lifter exploding. Thankfully all pistons checked out OK. So while the engine was back out of the car, Nick decided to modify the front frame to allow oil pan removal. He jigged up the lower control arms, cut out the frame x-member and fabbed up a new x-member and forward attaching points for the lower a-arms. Now we can drop out the center and remove the oil pan for inspection.

Bought a Cricut machine and added some custom touches to the graphics. Attended a track rental on 7/14 and just worked on the 60ft times. We managed to get her from an initial 1.32 down to a 1.18 before we got rained out for the day. Previous best has been 1.26 at Norwalk during Drag Week 2021. Looking for low teens or high 0's. Between lauch boost, tire pressure and shock settings we are closing in.

Erik, do you mind posting some info about the turbos? I read 78/75 but didn’t see much else. I’d appreciate it. I may be jumping off the deep end and doing this soon. Thanks

Getting ready to update this thread. I have tons of pics to upload. The turbos are VS racing 78/75 T4 units https://turbo4less.com/product/vsr-n...n-7875-billet/

If you are not planning on running boost above 18 psi, most of the decent Chinese
offerings will do the job with either a sleeve bearing supporting the compressor/turbine shaft or sometimes there will be a ball bearing option that is not too expensive. Key is the boost pressure/load exerted on the compressor/turbine shaft. I looked at the website. The people are a Marketing outfit. Not a Turbo Manufacturer like Borg Warner or Garrett. But they still might have access to some good parts. Richard Holdener has lots of videos on different turbos he has tested over the years. And he and his wife are very nice people. https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC8u...63l1-uRSx6XbnQ Tom V. I am disappointed though that no one in the pontiac world was willing to loan him a 57-58 Pontiac flywheel so he could run a older Pontiac engine with a turbo on it.
