Brad,

Yak operates out of sheer ignorance. We just need to accept the FACT the he KNOWS IT ALL(or thinks he does). I sure Yak could teach Bob a thing or two about building world championship caliber engines.........yeah,RIGHT!!!!!

Well I am not going to say I just ordered the best big 3 truck, but I ordered the best one for my personel needs (I Think). Last week I ordered an Echoboost F-150 Extended cab with an 8' Bed, 2wd. I do not tow as much as I used to, and Mostly use my Trucks for Transporting Bulky but not heavy loads for work, and the 4 or 5 times a year I tow my car trailer to the track.
My 97 Dodge has been a good truck that I have neglected the Maint on for the last 5 or 6 years, and now just doesn't justify the 2 to 3 grand of maint work it really needs.
The Rams eliminated themselves for me with the new Ext Cab design with the forward opening doors.
I just can't bring myself to buy a new Chevy, and the GMC's were about $5000.00 more than the Ford, get worse MPG, and I would have to get things like a leather interior, push Carpeting ect.... That I did not want or need.
I hope it is better than my last new F-150, the 1987 300 I-6 that was the worst new vehical I ever owned until it luckly had the ignition switch burn it to the ground 6 months after I bought it.

i have heard ford recommends no towing above 55mph with the ecoboost, i have heard of a few trans failures with guys towing including the one i was supposed to put a 5th wheel hitch into today... just a fyi

Which modern inline,6 cylinder diesels? Cummins 6B/6BTs,6Cs, ISMs? Detroit Series 40s or Series 60s? Cat C10s?C12s? Perkins? Yanmar? IH DT466Es? DT530Es? WHICH ONE,oh mouthy one??? BTW....I noticed you're STILL avoiding the question. WHAT IS YOUR OCCUPATION? I'm a retired ASE Master Engine Machinist with both gasoline and diesel endorsements. I've also worked as a diesel injection tech. WHAT'S YOUR EXPERIENCE other than RUNNING YOUR MOUTH???

listen brass, its obvious you dont work on anything truck produced by the big three built within the last 10 years. you 2 idiots can llaugh all you want at me , i guarantee you there is more people loling at you from this forum for sticking up for ford than you can shake your fist at. i just think your trying to get into toms pants.i base my opinion about ford trucks based on what i see come into the shop everyday.

i dont even know where to start with how bad ford sucks... bloated fuel economy figures especially for the ecoboost? na ..... guess how 2004 and up ford rear springs we change compared to same year chev and dodge. its 10 ford to 1 chev or dodge. i can check misfire counts on old dodges and chevys with my snapon scanner. had a 2006 ford explodition come in with misfires and they still dont have misfire counters, have to drive it before a misfire code will come on.(oh ya broke 7 of 8 plugs on it but thanks to my napa removal tool i had all 8 plugs changed in less than 3 hours) with a ford scanner maybe its different but i'm not buying a scan tool for each manufacturer. seriously even stupid things like where they put the fuse box on a recent ford truck will piss a guy off when fuses are so easy to check on the other trucks. but i guess some guys on here want to talk about how sweet 351 cleveland heads( were 351cs even put in trucks?) or how tough 1972 ford frames are. is there retarded things that dodge and chev/gm do? you bet! but they are not near as frustrating as owning, driving servicing or fixing a 1997 and up ford truck

THE BEST TRUCKS BUILT RIGHT NOW ARE NOT THE FORD F SERIES TRUCK!

on a side note V8 diesels are the best( except the ones that ford has been using since the 90s) and 6 cylinder diesels are for queers ! lmao, this is fun

1) Why would they be laughing and who are these people ?

2) I'm sure a few see your grammar as no laughing matter.

3) Bottom line : Ford did not need a government bailout. Why did GM if they're so great ?

4) You talk about scan codes alot. In plain English it sounds like you're a parts changer. You can give a monkey a banana to do that.

5) Of course you can't tell us how bad Ford sucks because they don't

6) Ford V8 diesels suck ? Is that why they lasted well in countless medium duty trucks and do quite well in drag racing (mine was well in the 11s)

Actually that was a pretty damn weak attempt @ humor...

In my experience, the only techs that enjoy poking fun at those with ASE certs are those very same techs that cant (or simply dont have enough self-confidence to even try to) pass the ASE tests.

There is absolutely no valid reason for a working tech to avoid getting their certs.

It has never hurt any tech to be ASE certified.

And usually the employer covers the cost,so dont try to say it's about the $$$ either.

FWIW

My truck runs GREAT with 289000 on it. And we are not just arguing engines here are we guys? Any fool can build an engine to last, but building the rest of the truck to last is what counts. Ford will win that hands down. Government Motors FTL.

No,yak(American slang for vomiting)

It wasn't good. I'll put my experience (30+yrs) up against yours ANY DAY. BTW....diagnosised God knows how many injector codes on Power Stroke 7.3s, rebuilt
THOUSANDS of HEUI injectors and Rexroth high-pressure oil pumps along with THOUSANDS of Standadyne, Bosch,Nippondenso, GM 6.2/6.5, Yanmar, EMD,ALCO,Fairbanks Morse and Lord only knows mechanical injectors. Align bored, set cam bore repairs, saddle repairs, thrust surface repairs, crevice seal repairs, bored cylinders, honed cylinders, align honed saddles, milled decks and machine operations I'm willing to bet you've never seen, let alone done and ground THOUSANDS of crankshafts. Care to compare, neophyte??

Bret,

A heartly AMEN!!! The longest two hours of my life was when I took my first ASE Master exam. If you don't courage to take the tests yourself, keep your mouth off those of us that do!!

Why would someone bring a brand new truck, still under warranty, to an independent shop?

LOL, He is just a BRAND specific hater. With that list of vehicles in his signature, he gets plenty of experience being a wrench turner/parts changer. I save the mechanic title for our experienced seasoned folks in here.
