Appears to be a keeper. Love to see the dreaded Buick air cleaner decal! Does still have the KR Rallys, that's a plus.

Please bear with me...I've been wrong before , and NOT meaning to be rude, but I was under the opinion that the 71 & 72 models had the unique distinction of being the two year only Pontiac Teal (blue/green) engine paint. ![]() I think the Robin Blue was already in use from 1967 (or even earlier) and included the 1968 models. 1969 & 1970 got the silver / blue metallic. 1971 and most of the 1972 models got the Teal /Blue Green. The very last or extreme latter part of the 72 model production and the 73 models saw the continuation of the Robin Blue Pontiac paint again. Never heard of a bare '71 or '72 intake or chrome valve covers on these engines from the factory. Anything is possible. Early one may have made it out of the door like that. My car has a lot of '70 part numbers stuff on it. Especially the A/C. Eddie

1971455HO,
Just to add to the confusion, 1966 was the first year for the metallic silver-blue engine paint used through model year 1970. 1965 and earlier got the robin's-egg blue paint as well as the '71 - mid '73 motors (or teally blue). I think you are correct about the '71 -mid '73 having a teal tint to the color and not as light as the '65 and earlier motor paint. Dennis |

Sorry to confuse. Just mentioned the paint color as far as the roundports go.

And to further add to the mix, the post March 15th '73 V-8's were painted (or in some cases over-painted) with a new, darker non-metallic Blue.

[QUOTE=Bentwheelbob;5464009]Here's the original post on this car which I did exactly 6 months and $4000 dollars ago...
Bob, did you fly up and see the car in person? |

No, at $37.5 it didn't seem like a good investment to travel that far. After 6 months though, and a price drop, it's getting into the range of buy it now, put it on a truck, and see it when it arrives.
Probably not for me though...I was really smitten with a couple of the Buccaneer Red TA's at the Nats, I really think that is my next target. That color with the bird is pretty badass. Now if I didn't already have a 455 HO Formula, this would seem like a real consideration. Probably a few bucks to be made detailing it out real well and flipping it. What town with a real sports following is yellow and black - that would be the place to sell that car. |

Just a note on engine color for the 73's or at least on my 73 GTO engine. I bought this car new & the color of the paint on the engine was/is still the light blue or as most call it baby blue. Mine is an early car.

Hmmm....Seems like you would at least clean the wheels and interior before taking pictures and putting it on Ebay. Wrong left fender.

Somebody stole the radio.......but they left a delete plate in it's place....
![]() Needs an open face alternator....and somebody forgot to pick the price tags off all the parts.........but very cool car nontheless..... ![]() I'd take it just the way it is....and have it "all fixed up" in no time... The sticker on top of the air cleaner has to GO...whether it is correct...or NOT... Price may be a BIT optimistic....but go find another....
