Looks like a really nice car to me.

I remember seeing it advertised at a classic car dealership in Canada for quite a while. That place had several other desirable early 2nd gen Firebirds as well.

Yeah I went and saw it years ago and was tempted to buy that blue firebird for a track car. Think a shop out of PA had built it. But the resto was done to mostly stock specs suspension and drivetrain wise - and missing door guts and dash and inner wheelwells etc - it was not worth $25k to me then. Cool though and totally all new. I think it has Hooker fender flares which was neat. We'll see who it turns on and for how much now....

NO. Too many are placed in the wrong location. It should be on the driver's side, right in back of the scoops wing nut bracket. If you have an untouched unit, there should be glue residue in that area.

Maybe I missed the other discussion;
I thought 1970 L74 cars didn't have decals?
I thought the callout was in essence for cars with optional engines.
eg:
1) 1970 TA w/L74 (std) = no decals
2) 1970 TA w/L67 (opt) = decals
3) 1970 Formula w/L74 (opt) = decals

I thought the '70 TA's with 'Ram Air' decals are akin to a myriad of other post-delivery decal dress ups, that the hobby basically accepted because it looked good.

I was asking about the air cleaner decal on the shaker base.

Sorry. We were talking about the Keep Your GM Car All GM decal on the side of the air cleaner base. Most use the wrong code or no decal at all. Almost all are placed in the wrong location.

Well optioned T/A with AC and a 4 speed. Does not have the original motor (but one in there was restamped as noted).

Strong out of the hole at $75k already. Seems strong for a very solid 'driver' but I guess having AC and a 4 speed rarity (and being blue) is the catch.

I could also see if it was a CA built car (which it is not) but what do I know. Will be interesting.

If you are going to run 17" honeycombs on a lowered 2nd gen, this is the perfect set up with 245/45 and 285/40 rear tires.
