the fuel lines arr the same material/size as other years;
fuel line routing differs, I can't say off hand right now if 1970's are unique;
I believe I read somewhere that 1972-1977 are the same, but I suspect that was bunk, because the line I grabbed off a '77 L78 many years ago DID work on a 1972 engine, but required a long fuel filter housing to work...
(I believe that 1975 was the first year of the longer housing)

Fuel pumps... yeah, I realized a while ago they were a little tough to find, so I have bought them as I've come across them.
Quite frankly, considering the number of applications that use them, I'm surprised the aftermarket hasn't stepped in with a correct looking pump that uses ethanol resistant rubbers.
I have understood that they are pretty much a ticking time bomb (regaurding failing) when exposed to ethanol blended gasolines.

RR ('6601) is the 1970 Ram Air air cleaner decal.
/\ thank you for that!

Wasn't someone here making aircleaner decals (and whatnot?)
The person that took over Jim Osborn Reproductions (probably the ones that were sold to you by Ames and Classic) posted that they were revamping some of the ones they reproduce to make them better. He didn't want to bothered to make new ones if they didn't sell large volumes. Because the Keep Your GM Car GM decals were pretty specific to the make/model/application, '70 Pontiac alone probably had over 14 decals. He would have to pay royalties to GM on each of the designs.
Well I had a stroke of luck!
I found someone who did a short run of them, and had one left over!
So I now have a correct air cleaner decal tucked away - Yay for me!!

I will get around to making a new/comprehensive post;
I started it last week(?), and just haven't finalized it.
I'll get to it as soon as I have the time to sit down again, and continue typing/editing it.

Are you sure the PN is correct?

If you think about it, it isn't as much of an undertaking to run these off as it was, lets say ten or fifteen years ago, you just need a scan, some photoshop skills, and access to a vinyl shop.

It is when they use the wrong PN, as I eluded to earlier. That is the same incorrect one muscle car air cleaners.com used on their refurbished unit.

Jonny already has it on his list, but here's pictures of the glove box doors from a 1970 and a 1971.

The inner metal piece is a different stamping.

1970 has two similar sized sunken rectangles.

1971 and later have one larger raised rectangle area where the maintenance schedule label was placed and one smaller sunken area to the right for the tire pressure label.

The 1970 also used just 4 rivets along the bottom edge where the 1971+ used 6 rivets.

Yes, the hinge is busted.

The plastic on the inner sides is also shaped slightly different.

1970 the plastic runs lower down the side and has a spare hole where a rivet could have gone.

1971+ stops shorter and the hole where the rivet could have gone is in the metal stamping but the plastic does not cover that area.

The 1970 is in really excellent condition. Good hinge and color is still very good.

I'm not going to use it so I should probably put it in the for sale section.

Seeing Chads pictures reminds me of the brain teaser pictures we used to see as kids that challenged us to "Find all the differences in these two pictures!"

that's a good idea... I only recently confirmed the pulley part numbers for my car - and GM complicated matters by often issuing a different part (assembly) number than what is seen physically pressed onto the part.

So I would need some help there if this is to be done.

I should be able to have time in the near future to start this again...

Looks like 70 and 71 used the same KN label. I have a door that looks like the 71 style but has a KU label. Wonder how many years used the 71 style?

I've got one that is 1971+ style and a KA label. I can't find much info about the labels for the tire pressure so far, which is odd because there is info about the safety maintenance sticker like this

3991751 8.800 All A,B,F ................ STICKER, vehicle safety maint 1 1971 1971 8-28

Looks like there was a change to the label during the 1971 year, too. Here's two examples of a newer style REV 1 KN label that were on these two Van Nuys cars. I wonder what the build date was on the second one?

http://forums.maxperformanceinc.com/...18&postcount=2

http://forums.maxperformanceinc.com/...0&postcount=15

My KA labeled one must be newer yet since the hole where the rivet could have gone in my pictures above is not present on this one.

Ah ha! I knew it was in the AIM. It's in Section 10.

KM is 1970 and 71 D/WS4, W66
KN is 1970 and 71 W/WS4, W66

Any other years should be in their respective manuals.

KU and KA are not in this list so must be some other years.

Here's the same page from the 1970 AIM. The artists got it right between 1970 Firebird with the two equal sized depressions and the 1971. There is a KU in this list, but it's for a Tempest.

Ric reminded me of the old "Find all the differences" so I looked more and another difference in the metal backing is the 1970 does not have the lower strip that goes underneath where the A/C vent would go, whereas the 1971 does and that's the area where the two extra rivets go. They must have had some reports of issues with that being a weak area or something.
