No real connection, just and outside company who seen a need & filled it.
You would see the SUN machines in most top notch shops including Dealerships. Even GM dealers used them until they started making their own units Sun dealers were just as bad as used cars salesmen, they just kept pushing you to up grade & buy more. I don't have the distributor machine, I have the 720 tester. I do have a local shop which has a restored Sun distributor machine. I have them setup/rebuild my units. I have the cards for most domestic cars 62-72. You see thease machines come up on the net every now & then, no real market for older machines. There is a company which restores them & re-sells. By the way, This one is complete & FS

To have the throttle blades open too much due to a lean carb idle circuit/vacuum leak is a guarantee for dieseling.
A hot cam acts just like a vacuumleak and a vacuumleak causes a weak signal through the venturi in carb. A weak signal through the venturi isnīt able to pull enough fuel from the idle circuit, so the idle circuit needs to be opened to correct dimensions for the present vacuum. With ignition properly set and carb mixture adequat for the setup the throttle blades will be in the correct position at idle. |
