Brian, not in a bunch,I have not flamed John or really called him a crook, just looking for someone that might actually know him to know if there is a TRUE reason for not shippping. My last contact was 30 days ago.I think I have waited a reasonable length of time before I even asked for help from the board.Tom

John Colaw
370 E Harmon Ave
Las Vegas, NV 89109-7003

This is the info that comes up with an AOL white pages search. It's the same phone number but a different address.

Tom,

Maybe try having someone else call that number from a different area code? If he is dodging you then he knows it is you calling by the area code (caller ID).

This kind of thing really stinks... No matter what, I think he should have at least given you a 5 second phone call just to say "Hey man, gimme a few weeks.. I just moved (or whatever)" Have a situation where a lawn sprinkler guy lost our business because we called him 3 times over the last 7 days for an estimate appointment and he hasn't called. Called another guy and he called within a few hours and will be here on Monday.

It's all about communication.... this guy may be going through something and for a lack of communication everyone is questioning his integrity... one 5 second call - that is all it would take.

i read a few of his posts, most are just in the lobby, in his last post he stated "Heck I wanna rob banks. I could have lots more money for my Pontiacs"

yea, call me a jerk, but if it looks like a duck, and sounds like a duck, ITS A DUCK

I know it's not my money, but I don't think I would worry. He has a good reputation here and on ebay. I have corresponded with him and I read his posts here and on CP. He has a circle of friends here. I don't blame you for being nervous, but if you get burned, I'll be shocked. Joe.

P.S. I remembwer in one of his posts that he wanted to leave Las Vegas. He may be in the middle of a move.

I would alert the authorities. For $500 bucks I would have my own brother checked on after a month of no contact and with money owing. Just being honest. Having said that 500 bones is a good bit of cash to be out so I would be in one hell of a lather. In fact if someone were to try to take that amount from me personally-they would be hard pressed to achieve it. I am much less patient than you, though flexible when communicated with. A phone call is all that is required to allay your fears. This guy hasnt even done that. Mail fraud is a federal crime. I dont think he is guilty of it yet, but it's close. I would alert him via registered mail at his last known addy, then publish a notice of intent to collect -then you can sue and recover-as well as likely gain recompense for some of your time and effort in pursuing this guy. It's unfortunate, but moving or not, trouble or not, the guy has let you down. If the check crossed state lines, then he would be likely culpable in a court of law for a lot more than the $500 he took out of your pocket in legal fees etc for the felony he would be charged with. I would have paid him a visit a long time ago. You are better advised to seek legal redress as it is less messy than my way!!! (and a whole lot wiser)

definately good to hear...seems some people don't know the importance of communication.

i once thought i was getting burned on one of my first ebay purchases...took forever to get, and never would respond to e-mails. reading through his feedback, i found that everyone had the same problems with him. finally got the item though...

I just had the same problem with a rechromed rear bumper I bought for my '67 on ebay. I won it and paid for it before I came home from Iraq, but it didn't show up while I was home. I emailed and emailed the seller, asking for tracking info or some other way of knowing when it would show up. No response.

It finally arrived at my house while I was in the air flying back here. I would gladly have extended my trip by one day if I knew the bumper was close. Now it'll have to sit for six months before I can get it installed. :(

Im really worried about that boy we used to talk about once a month on the phone and now no answer. This whole deal with Tom S is so completely unlike John that I feel like something is really wrong. Nobody likes talking to people more than John Colaw, he would have to be dead or in jail to be quiet this long.

here is the LasVegas work number if you want to try there
