I used 7/8" hose for my SD and I am still let in to some of the clubs. ($15 cover each visit) What is the best replacement for this item in question?

Ames makes the bushing and the grommet for both ends of each drop link...at least they did a few years ago. It used to be a tough find hence the heater hose fix...I even saw a piece of a garden hose used on one once....it was a 76 though.

You are correct, Ames has them as a complete kit, Page 178 P/N FS525, FS527 & FS529 P/N varies with sway bar diameter requirements. These are stated to be graphite impregnated Urethane. I don’t believe the originals were Urethane however; I wish I could find them NOS, or at least in the correct durometer / hardness in rubber Any other suggestions...? SDD

I can't believe someone hasn't repopped them in the correct materials by now. But, the urethane is sure to out last the stock rubber.. Almost every droplink end (swaybar side) I have ever seen has mushroomed from the grommet wearing thru.... then it was metal on metal causing the mushroom effect. And thats mine included. Just make sure you get the right sway bar size by wraping a piece of paper around the sway bar at the links contact point and mark it...then lay it out flat and measure it.. Good Luck

I think the measurement technique you gave is accurate for the circumference on the sway bar, but to get the diameter one needs to divide that number by Pi (3.1415) to get it's nominal diameter. i.e 2.750” circumference is a 7/8” OD sway bar. "Must remove mushromming......... before........ AAAHHHhhhhhhhh" "He's dead Jim." SDD

Anybody know where I can get some of that black garden or heater hose? This green sprinkler hose I'm using does look pretty bad.

There must be something in the water in MA, because the same town now has 2 1974 SD's for sale. One is the red SD for sale for $250,000.00 the other for only $70,000.00 which is white. Is it the economy, or is it a Goverment conspiracy to get these cars out of hidding?

Here is the listing: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...m=110163786492 With the latest 200,000 dollar price reduction,I noticed that the seller has removed some parts. It appears that the aftermarket windshield washer is no longer included. I wonder if it will be offered in a separate auction with "Buy it Now" or "Best Offer"? |

As I looked at the 2 1974 SD ad's red 4spd car $250,000.00. Also looking at the white 70,000.00 car the owner is the same. Clues, how how many people could live in this same town? With the same paver brick drive way? Could be selling his collection?
