Glad to see a similar minded man here, I have an '84 GMC 2WD that I have put a 400 in, a 557 block actually. I've rebadged it (see picture), I call it the "Big Chief". Put a Hurst Indy floor shifter and even got a set of Rally IIs off of a Grandville to put on it. I've got 33x12.5 mudgrips and burn em as long as I want, not to mention outrunning my buddies '70 El Camino SS and my cousins '04 Tiburon GT (modified) on the street, and my other buddies '76 K5 Blazer in the mud. I need to put better gears and possibly a stall in it cause it's a turd off the line, but it breaks loose downshifting at 30-40mph.
