Nothing wrong with that... especially if she has no kids.
I had a high school classmate that went to Florida and ended up working for a lady. She passed away and left him everything. Ended up with a fortune and never had to work again. So "owned" isn't a bad thing at all.

As long as the lady that gave you the snowblower "respects your authority" I think it's AOK.
There have been several instances this season when I wish I had one of those things, even here in Seattle, it's been a snowy winter
