Sick of such books & catalogs. My needs are:

A durable Torque-Spec sheet (been using the MOTORS page, back page of a HO Racing manual, and one of the popular PMD Books Tq spec pages, depending on which I find when needed.

most published material can take up to 2 years to get out and so its dated by the time we see it

word document your torque specs sheet, print them and laminate them. Be carefull about some specs. they can be waaaayyyy off.

there are several good books on head flow. just plug it in as a search on amazon.com and you will get alot. Plug in scientific design of intake and exuaste sytems. a very good book by a Dr, Morrison should pop up. lots of simple math formula and excellent exuaste designs

I tried several times to promote reading materials beyond HP Pontiac and Pontiac enthusiast and got flamed.

when you find an excellent text on exuaste, intake or other engine design subjects. take a look at thier reference and bibliographic material. that will head you in the right direction

I like what David Vizard writes. Lots of applicable theory

Laminate a TQ list: ok.
Vizard; done it. Some =others; done that.
Turns-out that Reading, THEN doing takes time because the engine is usually together & running.

Thus far, A Graham Bell 2-stroke EXH theory&calcs have been the most helpful.

Well, Paul and his shop are building my short block for my Catalina. I'm hoping that he is incorporating all the good stuff into my engine. Maybe using it for the mule??? I can't use the engine yet anyway so I hope he is taking his time. That way the engine will be done at the same time the book is out and I'll get a complimentary copy---right Paul--huh, huh??? 8^) Mark L

aquiring a library is part of the planning stages, It allows you to discus matters intellegently with your machinist. presuming you can read beyond the 6th grade level of magazines.

Some vendors who just shift parts will disagree. they would have you simply listen to them and buy thier parts.

This drives machinist crazy.

if you just spend 3% of your budget on books written by engineers, proffessional in the shop the world would be a better place.
