My Dad wasn't really a car guy. It was just transportation to him....so, I would have to say his 3 on the tree '58 Ford Country Sedan Wagon. It had a hole in the rear floorboard and we kids would drop paper through it and watch it fly up into the air behind the car.
What a blast.
Funny story about it...Years after he sold it, we were at a local park and my Dad spotted the car. He was over looking at it when the new owner walked up. My Dad says, "That used to be my car. Yeah...sometimes I wish I still had it." The guy looks at my Dad and without missing a beat says in perfect deadpan fashion, "Yeah...Sometimes I wish you still had it too."

My parents split before i started school.
Dad almost immediately bought a 63 Vette White split-window 4spd sidepipes.
And proceeded to be a textbook ladies man of the day and time.

He took me to my first day of school in that car in 1970.
I was "the Corvette kid" all year.

But my favotite was his next car.
He traded the 63 in on a brand new 72 Stingray Vert
Deep Blue Met - Blk top - Auto - AC - sidepipes.

About a year or so later he re-married and she made him sell it.

Took my drivers test in 79 using his his 75-76 Olds98 cargo-barge.
Test guy told me to never park the car on the street anywhere-
there wouldn't be enough room between fire hydrants and i'd get a ticket.
Only asked to drive it once afterwards.

Like the last post my dad wasn't a car guy at all & knew less then my daughter right now about cars. But he did buy my sister a 56 starchief & it was a tank. It ran great but the raditor leaked a little bit. But the best story was when my dad & a friend of his were out drinking on a sat night . Well they were flying down an old country road & went off the road & took out about 50-60 ft of a farmers fence came back out on the road & kept right on going with only putting a small scratch on the front bumper. They went back a few days later a paid for the fence but the car was undamaged & got sold about 1 month later because of the raditor kept leaking. It was a 2 tone gray , but looked great to me.

My dad actually owned a 70 HEMI Cuda.I remember as I was 9 years old.The day he picked the car up was the day he had found out that my Mom was pregnet with my younger brother making three children. Needless to say my Mom made my dad get ride of the car for something more practicle. He kept the car for about 5 or 6 months before trading it in for a 71 Plymoth wagon.Thats my favorite car my dad owned,but he did have a 62 Conv. Impala with a 409 340hp,63 Impala with a 409 425hp,64 Merc. Maurader with a 427 and 2 four's and a 4spd.

6,000 pound weight is said to keep car on salt for traction due to no wings allowed for class designation.

I helped him race through 1990- 2005( Ball Racing) then his health started to decline.

My dad is not much of a car guy, I got my addiction from my uncle

1. 1971 Pontiac Catalina 2dr - to this day my dad's favorite
2. 1958 Chevy Impala - Pre me, Mom wrecked it when they were dating
3. 1969 Mustang Grande - My sis and I in the back seat no car seats!
4. 1966 Chevy Impala 2dr
5. 1978 Lincoln Mark V - took it to my prom

1970 Barracuda Gran Coupe, wanted him to store it in the barn until 1976 when I turned 16, but no dice, he sold it in '73 or '74. It had a 318, leather bucket seats, and an automatic with console shifter.

Dad never owned a car. Carpenter by trade so it was always a Chevy truck, long wide bed that a sheet of plywood would fit in. He made a camper shell to protect all of the kids on the long drive to Ohio to visit in the summers.

Not my father but my grandfather....'61 Coupe De Ville convertible...Spanish Leather interior. He owned an auto repair shop in Oakland..the car came in after slipping a parking brake and fell into the bay...he immediately hosed everything with fresh water...removed the door panels...just flushed everything clean. He kept the car as insurance paid the owner for a total loss. The car is still in the family although I haven't seen it in a few years. Never changed a tire on it tho....lol

My Dad had a '64 Comet convertible, turquoise blue w/ white top, that he bought new. He later traded that car for a nightwatch blue '65 Tempest wagon. Mom had a neat little early '60's Falcon, black/red, during the same time frame. Unfortunately, it was all downhill after that...

The only car I remember is a 1954 Green Bel Air, my Grampa had a matching Yellow one. My dad passed in 1959......But my ex Brother in law was a car guy and had a 70 granada gold RA IV GTO 4 speed with a rubber top. Traded it before it was 6 months old for a 70 Blue LS6 auto Chevelle SS. My cousin had a 62 Vette, 63 409 impala and a 68 black 68 Chevelle SS 396. I think he may have been an influence on turning me into a car guy as he was the one who taught me how to paint and do mechanical.

My dad had a 50 Chevy half ton for a while, never did much with it. I remember helping him bleed the brakes.
Of the ones he drove, probably the 70 Cutlass wagon, that I learned to drive in.

My Dad had a 1963 Thunderbird. White, black vinyl roof and black interior. First car I went fast in. So I thought at the time.

My fave has to be my Dad's '69 Custom S. Liberty Blue 2 door hardtop. He bought in the fall of '68. Orderded it through where he worked, the Pontiac Motors Foundry.
I was in first grade at the time. The day he brought it home I was standing in the garage and watched him pull in. I thought some stranger had arrived! That car made quite an impression on me!
