I could take better photos in natural lighting if you want, but digital photos will always look different from car to car.

Very cool car! Has anybody sprayed meridian turquoise lately? I tried to buy some chromabase but no formula. I was going to try some ppg dbc,and see if they have a formula.Has anyone used it?

That sure is a true statement Greg. Always realized that (was in auto finishing for years) but a "Is the dress white and gold?" debate was in the news last year. I thought it was the lamest debate I ever heard as the dress was obviously (to me) white and gold. Then my wife and son were in the room and they said it was obviously blue and black! WTF!? As a painter you have to remember that there is no accounting for taste in a color choice (you may think it's horrid but the customer may love it) and that may be because we can perceive hues differently. But, most everyone (no matter what shade of color they think they see) can usually spot color differences in adjacent panels or a bad paint repair blend lol.

My car has been painted since this thread was last active. It was last April actually.
I still have not gotten a photo of it that shows the color the way I see it in person though...

I thought it was a joke too when I saw it being discussed on television a couple of weeks ago. Looks white and gold to me. I'm trying to see it as blue and black but I can't imagine.

This was with them looking at the same picture you were looking at, at the same time?



I had seen a lot of the 'pics' back then, and if you put them side by side, you could tell the differences.
I think the computer that is saving it and re-posting it made a difference.
I even saw on one site that said they did a photoshop eyedropper on the colors and it said black and blue.
(the real dress was black and gold)

I did it with the picture they posted and it said it was white and gold?



Anyway, I see white and gold on the picture you posted.

P.S. If on a laptop, cursor the picture up until you just see the bottom part of the dress.



Some of it is the eye perceiving the background color and the dress colors differently.

About like metalflake in Brewster Green maybe?

You are right John. If I look at just the bottom portion, I can now see where people may see a rather light blue for the white and grayish black for the stripes.

Anyway, I ran across another pic of my car in different light and taken with a different camera on the day it was painted. Looks different than the pics I took above?

My 68 was PPG bccc right out of the can. Touched up the hood 4 years ago matched perfect
