Keep the wagon AND the wife. You'll regret loosing either one of them.
Try to get her involved with the wagon, discuss what might have to be done with it and let her decide
what wheels you should get for the wagon or which color the future repaint will be or where you would go in it for holidays.
You can get away with almost everything if the family is part of a restoration.

I cleaned up the interior a little over the weekend. Looks closer to needing to sell vs keep at this point. Should have done work on my Ventura over the weekend, but spent time working on the wagon.

So here is what I have learned so far about the wagon.

The interior was switched with a Bonneville to get the rear seat and it was in better condition. overall the interior is very nice. one small tear on the driver side seat cover, but not bad at all. one of the seat welts on the back seat is loose also. could use carpet due to fade or could try to dye it, but is in nice condition overall. door panels were for power windows and this one is manual. i have the switches, but not the power regulators for that. Front seat is power, tilt wheel, very nice steering wheel with the upper portion having a crack in it. Radio was replaced with an Aftermarket pontiac branded am/fm with ipod hookups. dash was cut to make this work, but looks good. Clock works, rear power window works. Middle seat belts, but none for the rear. Front seat headrests could use a little work to tighten them up. Headliner is in good condition overall, but is not attached at the rear, may be able to fix that. Spare tire is there along with the jack. electronic temp and oil pressure sunpro gauges work great. AC was added, but was not fully completed. Can see that the dash is standard. he did have the lower ac vent for the car though. kick panel speakers were added also.

Steering gear box was replaced with a faster ratio box and has scarebird front disc brakes. This makes the car a real joy to drive. stock sway bar in the front, none in the rear. Dual exhaust sounds nice and the car appears to have been recently aligned. Tires are in great condition. Engine is a YH 421, but has 46 heads on it along with Carb/Intake swap. HEI ignition also. Valve covers could use new gaskets and the oil pan leaks a little. Not sure about what gears are in the rear, guessing mid 2's based driving 70 mph at 2200 rpm.

You guys are funny. I like to talk big when my wife is not around also.

We both work and share all expenses, she does most all the housework, i mow the yard and maintain vehicles.

Let me know if you decide to sell. I have considered putting a black interior in my car and some other ideas with a donor & turn one around.

Just don't get too many cars. It is a PITA. It is easy to get sucked in and then not have time to either work on or drive them enough. To me 3 is the limit. 2 is probably better. After that you almost need another person to help you keep up with them. I have should have plenty of time and it's still not enough for all the cars.

Interesting note - the guy also added the reading lights on the side. He had to graft in the brackets for that. They do not come on these cars. You can tell b/c the headliner is lacking the support in the center there where the light would go. There is different type headlining in the wagons than in the 4 door HTs that took those lights.

I have a simple fix. Take her shopping for whatever she wants this weekend. When she realizes how much stuff she can get in it in 1 shopping trip, your golden.

BTW: If you have any home improvement projects for the winter, with the 2nd seat folded down you can fill it up with 2X4's and even 4X8 sheets of plywood will fit in the back.

Thats the second wagon I have seen with the split second row seat. It is a cool option and is really handy!

I played Baskeball at Northern State in Aberdeen SD for Coach Don Meyer. He was a great coach, you can find a lot info online about him. Most winning coach in all NCAA history. Great story on ESPN 360 about him and his car crash, recovery and his ability to continue to this day to fight cancer. Anyways, he had told me more than one time that even in College that I had to many Irons in the fire. Tinkering in the garage tonight, I can see how this is going to go. I have been able to drive the car several times and know that I would love to keep it, but the best thing for me is to cut the ties now taking everything into consideration.

Happy wife, happy life, focus on the one HUGE project I already have, no need to worry about garage space, storage, insurance, up keep and so on of another Darksider when I already have my hands full. So there you have it. You have had a peek into my life and now can own the wagon that created this little mess of a thread.

I will clean up the exterior tomorrow, get some pics and put it up for sale in the for sale section. $6500 w/out the rallys that I am going to throw on for the pics. $7000 with. I will put as much of a description on it as I can.
