Oh, it was considered but the RA-V heads were not legal and are not legal for this competition.

I have no idea what they are building. I have been told directly, however, that Ram Air 5 heads are NOT legal because they did NOT ever come on a production car.
You can not use a standard Pontiac intake manifold, exhaust manifold, pistons or camshaft therefore they are not stock replacement heads either. I was told that traditional Pontiac architecture is EIIEEIIE just like a Chebby and, of course, the RA5 is EIEIEIEI this is what I was told directly by the head of the rules. That's why we went with the Edelbrock Pro-Ports, they qualify as a stock replacement head because the stock intake, exhaust, valve covers, and camshaft are used and they use the stock valve arrangement.

That's not entirely true. The CV-1 heads were never legal as per the rules, all you had to do was read them. The team was accepted to run an engine at EMC but EMC never said it was a legal engine. When they accept a team, they are not accepting any parts/pieces. It is on the individual builders (NOT EMC) to make sure that their engines are legal and if there is any question we have to submit a formal question to the EMC rules committee. There was a builder that was pretty upset over our Pro-Ports but when we went through the rule book by the letter, our heads were legal. The rule book is printed in black and white and it was clearly stated the valve arrangement had to be stock and you couldn't run canted valves on a non-canted valve engine making the CV-1's illegal from the get-go. It is not EMC's fault they couldn't read the rules. Personally, I would've liked to see how our 428 stacked up against the CV-1 motor but it wasn't legal.
