There are no additional brackets on a '67, and the two mounting holes stamped in the bumper sets the plate high (as shown in the photo above of the '67 convertible). I would think the '65 would have been similar. Being overly fanatical and searching for the greatest cooling, I made a set of brackets to put the plate lower and keep the area between top and bottom of the bumper clear on my car. Probably didn't do a bit of good, but made me feel better.
