Wow, news must really be down playing this story as it hasn't even made the digital press, much less print up here in Michigan.
Shows just how vunerable we are to supply chain....as they say "3 days from anarchy"

When the power went out here for three days in a row everybody was complaining about not having fuel. That's when I decided to always keep my vehicles at or near full all the time. People complain about the price of gas going up a nickel a gallon with a $5.00 Starbucks in one hand and a cigarette in the other.

returned from South Point N.C. Sunday and other than "higher than I'm used to paying" gas prices...we saw no shortages anywhere between Fayetteville and Columbus, Ohio...where you can find it for less than $2.00 if you work at it. Averages around $2.05...which is the absolute lowest we saw on the road. All in all...the gougers up here are selling for about the same price as the gougers down there. The shortage thing is the oldest scare tactic in the book...and typically only used to shut folks up about the spills...which are blacked out of the news especially if "tar sand oil" is involved. Then we get into establishing "no-fly zones". Didn't they just announced that with new recovery methods they found a new field in the Middle East that would satisfy the world's needs for @ another 75 years? I don't think we'll be running out of oil any time soon. There are ships offshore with no place to unload almost constantly. Hopefully, y'all will have it straightened out before I drive back down to Florida in a few weeks. Going to Georgia Friday but the rental car should have a full tank and we don't have far to travel from the airport.

The leak repair (bypass) was finished today. Colonial is supposed to put the line back into operation on Wednesday.

The local chain in town (Knoxville area) is still mostly out, but I think it's their supplier more than anything. The big names like Pilot and Flying J have all had gas on I-40 as of today. I filled up the truck with diesel at $2.02 with no issues, lots of people circling the pumps for gas to fill up, most likely because they were low after not fighting the stupid this past few days.
