The Vegas track is 4 hours closer, nicer, and the area has other perks. Although I'm sure a day rental at Fontana is much cheaper than Las Vegas.

I just saw a promo showing the new Crow racing a car the Fast N Loud guys built. It looks like the same track.

Billed as Mega Race, Fast and Loud guys meets Big Chief, 3/27 on TV.
Farmtruck and Asin are also doing a drag race and autocross race against Aaron Kaufman, who just quit Gasmonkey. Richard Rawlings was crying when Aaron told him he was quitting. |

Now it becomes clear. I didn't want to spread rumors, but had heard that Chief was in California filming for a TV series. Our local talk was there might be some sort of spinoff of Street Outlaws, but that didn't really seem right. So he was out here for a different series, but it was filming the Fast and Loud segment.

Worse than you'd think...
His original 72 Lemans was a Luxury Lemans... Not a fan of gas monkeys...

I will tune in. Glad to see the Crow is back in some capacity. I can sink my teeth into an all steel home built car. As a fan, I couldn't wholly invest in the Crowmod car. Besides, I have a special place in my heart for any Lemans of the 1972 vintage.
![]() OK, so here is a question for you faster guys: At any point do you "strip it back" some, i.e., put together a slower car to keep things simple? Or do you always seek better and faster where nothing else lesser will do? Can you still get as much enjoyment out of a slower and cheaper bracket car once you have tasted the "milk and honey"? This thread made me wonder that stuff a little. I play at the low/slow end of the hobby.

I think the whole show has been a great marketing deal for the auto industry as a whole. Not even to mention the exposure that Pontiac has gotten. |

Take however YOU want, though. Big Chief's whole deal has been scienced out from a marketing/business proposal to one of the best shows on the automotive side of the web/TV market. Tom V.

So last night we see Chief picking up only the rear clip and bare chassis from Marty Palbykin in Phoenix. I was under the impression that he bought a rolling chassis, obviously not. That's the reason that the YouTube video shows doors from the donor Crow on the finished car.
Farmtruck and AZN switch from a 80s Malibu and a LS2 for their build, to a 76 T/A former race car with a real Pontiac Stratostreak engine. I even put the upcoming trailer on SLOMO last night to verify they didn't yank the Pontiac and install the LS2, good news the Pontiac engine stayed. So Mega race comes down to Chief running Marty P s old chassis with his old reliable turbo "PONTIAC SMALL BLOCK"...LOL. Against a pro mod with a blown Hemi built by Gas Monkey driven by the Laughlin guy of pro stock fame. In the other half of the matchup (dragstrip, autocross, and one undetermined event) its Aaron Kaufman with a 90s BMW with a LSX transplant, vs Farmtruck and AZNs 76 T/A, that looks to be a former road race car and still has a Pontiac engine in it. The people on this forum have 2 underdog Pontiacs to cheer for!!!!!!!!!!!!! Who's going to win? Vote here for your choice http://www.discovery.com/MegaRace/ |

If your a Pontiac fan, we have already won! 50% of the entire "racing" program will feature an "obsolete, ancient engine that has been out of production 36 years". There will be some serious head shaking if they win on top of that.

The "Back Half" typically gets mods when a racer buys a vehicle as each racer has their own ideas on what they want (for example a "no prep" track chassis). Tom V.

I wonder if Chief sold the BAE in Marty's car to Gas Monkey. Or if the producers bought Marty's car and gave Chief the shell and Richard the engine. It is reality TV after all. Shawn was on YB answering some questions and said he'd give more details after next week's episode. He did not sound happy.
