Ya F the patina the cars been in various stages of primer the last few years it's stripped to bare metal and it's time for some color. B-man I think your right match the original red on the jams. The painted white top would be cool I don't think I've ever seen one in person. not sure I like that look. The holes for the trim were mudded up when I got it I have the trim it was in the trunk.. I thought it was a vinyl top, but the roof was in such good shape. It Didn't make sense until I got the PHS.

The white roof would make it stand out.

I’d do the roof white.

EXACTLY! what a contrast. Came with a PAINTED white roof, that's classic and never goes out of style. Its not a rubber roof...

Red is a difficult color to accurately reproduce on computers and red paint samples can fade significantly if left in the sun. If your planning on going with a modern paint system finding a late model car in the red of your dreams is the most accurate way to go. Then make yourself available at the paint shop the day they paint so you can approve the color as it is mixed.

//\/\ /\ Many older red paints did not come with a clear coat. The Iron in the paint heats up and fades easily in many forms. Water base clearcoats make this much worse for cars that are outside most the time. I have painted " Soul Red" . It is what's called a " tri - coat" paint. Some call it " Kandy" as it has a tinted clearcoat. This paint works well in national rule top coat and offers excellent UV protection. The water-based version is not so good with UV.
Some, not all, Ceramic coatings have additional UV protection. UV has been the worst enemy of Red.
Oh, I have never seen a HORIZONTAL Barber shop sign.. I like the red/ white contrast AND a Cooler car.

Montero red is available from Martin Senor paints. I have mine mixed at local NAPA. this is a national rule base. USA a high solids euro clear for a very deep shine

Very cool, hit us back later with what details you wanna post like shop hours and total price. These days the body shop world is so much different post Covid. I'm about to paint my 91 Eagle Talon and it's pretty insane what that little car is gonna cost. Quotes for my 69 GTO body alone were near $20k, only fender patches and possible rear quarter swaps, the frame restoration adds mega bucks on top of that. Damn
