After having my garage broken into and had rare parts taken a few days after selling other parts, Never do I let anyone I don’t know into see what they might want to come back and not pay for. I still sell some stuff, but I always have the parts out of the garage and the door closed. If I know you or know who you are,, I’m as friendly and talkative as anyone and you can see what I have.

Last time i picked up some Pontiac parts from a member on this site, i asked "what else you got that i might want?"

Ended up leaving with a 69 400 complete w/ 62 heads, a 12 bolt rear complete, a th 400 w/cross member and drive shaft plus a nice '74 400 block. Glad i asked. I always do. All they can say is yes or no.

I get a good sense of a person's character from just talking to them on the phone for 5-10 minutes.
I can tell how the encounter will go about 80% of the time and how to handle the situation when they are at my place or at theirs.
If they are a true car person there is always something to talk about.
Never really have had a bad encounter except on Fleabay.
