Butler still is amazed at the HP ....but more so the Torque with a factory type intake and carbs! They said if go to a solid roller vs. a Hyd roller there is a lot more left in it!

If i remember correctly it makes much more torque than the same combo with ported Victor & a Dominator!

I just picked up this 1962 Tempest Lemans a few weeks go. It was built in Pontiac and I picked it up from a guy up in Michigan where it spent its whole life. 40,000 original miles. Someone did a terrible repaint that is peeling in areas, but overall it is in remarkable shape for being a Michigan car. All I've done so far is build a new package tray for it and replace the carpet with a couple of black area rugs that actually laid down much better than I was expecting. I was planning on buying repro carpet down the line sometime but the this stuff doesn't looks pretty nice so far. I need to find an original air cleaner assembly as someone ditched it in favor of a stupid chrome auto parts store "performance" section version. It looks ridiculous on this 4 Cyl single bbl motor. Anyway, I'm enjoying the car and looking forward to continued improvements.

I picked this up a few weeks go. I wasn't really looking for a Pontiac...I've been more of a Ford guy honestly, but the price was right for a running and driving car. I built a new package tray and used a couple of area rugs to replace the carpet. The front carpet was house carpet poorly fit by the PO, the rear was original and terribly faded. I went with black and it looks better than I had expected for a couple of $20 rugs.

Dilbone, Great carpet job. I really would like to know where you got the carpet. I would like to see the back of a piece. Love DIY. I need to replace mine but do not want to spend too much. Great job. Not a bad looking 62. John

Thanks John. There's a little wrinkling up near the firewall at the tunnel otherwise I was shocked at how well it laid down. It was seriously two $20 rugs from Walmart(4x6ft maybe). They had the standard house carpet backing which was awful to work with and shouldn't have worked at all but it's good enough for who it's for!!! Lol

Only under the rear bench seat. I couldn't keep in place while installing the seat without gluing it down. Everywhere else it just laid down pretty well. There is jute under the carpet and the spray adhesive wouldn't really stick well to that anyway.
