Reminded me to post an updated beach shot with the red fender well liners added. Just three upgrades left to do, rear power antenna, head rests & dual white pinstripe on the sides. Then she will be done!!!

2 weeks after I bought it. New wheels and tires and front end redone. Have the front fenders off fixin a dent or two right now. Repalceing the floor boards starting this weekend.

Never noticed before from the smaller picture that your bumpers were a charcoal gray. Are they painted steel, or fiberglass? Just curious.

Well, everyone has budget constrains nowadays, and the chrome was PEELING off of the front bumper in chunks. I used an entire can of primer on each bumper and then a can of Textured Metallic paint from Rustoleum. Used on truck bedliners.

It is on all of the highlights. Rims too. When it chips, I spray on a new coat. Headlight bezels too.

A lot of people do not like it cause they are SUPPOSED to be chrome. But, 80% like it cause it is different. If it was a snobby GTO, I most likely would not have done it.

Looks good. Didn't notice it before in the smaller pictures. I painted the front bumper on my '74 Cutlass for the same reason (body color)-and that one (being a 125 lb bumper)-(no joking) would cost a fortune to ship away to get rechromed. I may paint my Cutlass bumper with this color as well. Has a European look to it. What is the actual color called?

Beautiful car and setting. One of my personal favorite color combos. Added discs up front years ago on mine as well. Recently added hydroboost, making a good thing even better with the brakes.

The hydroboost is a hydraulic brake booster, that mounts in place of a vacuum booster behind the master cylinder, using power steering fluid (and pump pressure to operate.) Fluid route from the pressure side of the pump, back to the steering box. There is a lot more assist provided by this setup than a vacuum booster could possibly provide. Allowed my RA IV cammed 455 setup to stop better than most new cars, with little effort. Trucks with diesels and turbocharged vehicles have used this for years. I first had it on my 2005 Tahoe, and was amazed at the stopping power it had.

That was good enough for me to start some research! I WAS going to put discs on the rear also, but opted to only replace the boost unit first, so I could see what improvement it made. After that, I determined that a would not only need a shoulder belt addition, but would probably need a racing type harness to stay in the drivers seat upon hard application!

Looking at your setup and reading your experience on here is one of the things that led me to doing the same mod. Changing cams left me with less vacuum for assist (ironic, since with more power I needed better brakes.) I tried a vacuum pump, and although effective, I hated the noise it made. The hydroboost works better than the vacuum ever did even before I changed cams. You had posted this in another thread, and I had started one right before I converted mine (in the suspension forum) under a heading of Hydroboost vs Vacuum pumps.

You can do hydro boost for a lot less money than what hydratechbraking.com will cost you. Besides, I don't care for the way HydratechBraking sets theirs up.

Charles has a great setup that was very inexpensive to put in.... and there's no problems with it.
