Hey guys, does an 1108436 starter dated 3B13 seem too early for a 1st week of June built SD?

All my original engine components have date codes that are pretty spread out on this motor. Only thing I need is a starter and hope this one will work.

Nice race. It doesn't say, but can we expect at that wait the SD was an AC car with lower higher gears too? Either way, both pulled in some decent times.

I guess I'm confused, I though that the cars in pure stock could only use what was available for use in that year of car. ?? It says the T/A used a set of 390:to 1 rear gears & that set was not available for the car in 74 or 73 for that matter. The biggest gear set would have been 342: to 1 & the gear for the boss would have been a set of 390: to 1 & that was the only gear for it. What gives?? Also the T/A used a 2400 stall speed converter which stock was a 12" that was a 1400 stall speed for that car. I think to be fair also the cars should have been matched a little closer with the T/A being a 4 spd. with no A/C. But it seems the mag. was a bit biased about the match up. If they were closer the T/A would have won hands down.

HI guys after several years of seeing and reading about these SD trans ams, I think its time I look into trying to buy one. I will be looking to buy a nice driver as I plan on driving and enjoying the car, but would consider a numbers matching project car, if im priced out of the market. I've always been a GTO guy, so any advise on what to look for, good colors, typical problem areas, anything at all to help out this trans am noob? I hope to pick your brains a little and put out a wanted ad. Thanks again

Chris don't remind me. Muscle collector. I never would have figured white in the mix. But they do look nice in that color too.

That is mostly true. Gears however if your car can handle it, you can use it. It 60 fts. hard ! No AC on that car.

Regarding the converter, I believe you can nothing smaller than a 12"

The problem we had with matchups was there were a few that did not show and replaced at that day so we had to move a few cars around.

Well, if one REALLY wanted to open up the color-pallet they could've gone w the SD Formula option ordering, right? Like "old yeller" for ex.

The TA I bought in 73 was white, with a small bird on the nose
The 74 was blue without the bird and no AC
