Well another great time with Ernie, nice conditions and finally track prep.
CNC was stuck at work but another Pontiac guy with his nice 71 GTO was there with us in the Poncho camp. He runs a 428 stroked runs 11:70s. Die hard Pontiac guy that is another of my resources.
I'm so happy I cant explain. I unloaded the trunk dropped the tire pressure to 18 and that's it. 11:18. No changes from street tune. I actually didn't touch the timing all day.
Played with squirter sizes trying to figure out the bog...next couple runs 11:16 ..11:13
then upped the primary jets .for the 10:9 happy happy. Loaded the car up drove home.
Its nice to have a guy like TA man to push me....hes so darn positive and a good racer.
Thanks for the guidance . We need to get both cars consistant....

I used to drive it there all the time...but we like camping overnight too..so pulling it with a RV makes sense..

The car gets decent mileage actually with the 3.08's..and settles into a nice purr at 60 to 70mph...

I've reached my goals for this year..quite easily and cheap..a new intake with a great port job by Pontiac Derek..and dropping the tailpipes..After watching Andy I have a sense of what I want to do and change on the car...stock appearing sleeper cars have always caught my eye...Andy's car other than the rims looks stock on the outside....mine doesn't fiberglass hood, smoothed door handles..this winter I want to put a stock ta hood back on,start making it more sedate and stock looking..also a few other cosmetic changes...I think Andy and I could blow minds with 2 stock appearing street driven Trans Ams running low 11's and dipping into the 10's

I run the car normally on 87...going to the track I add 91 to the 3/4 tank mark....It most likely would be ok on 87...I never hear any hint of detonation or pinging romping on it around home..Shortblock has been in service since 2009...so no issues..

Okay so you are probably at 89 octane on the track. Similar for my combo; 87 on street, 100% 89 octane on the track.

Pretty easy to fillerup on 89 in anticipation of the track.

So, will you all get another shot at the track before the weather turns?
