As much as I would have liked to invest in the whole lot, I say good for him. It will take some effort and patience, but he will make far more money that way and after all it was an investment his father made.

GTO Tomb
First one sold for 15100, say that is a good price for what appeared to be an untouched original.

Glad to see this happening. The car that just sold was a nice solid original that went for a fair price. I'll be waiting to see what's next!

Inside scoop for my forum buddies. Next car to sell will be a 66 convert Marina Turquoise with Turquoise interior and white top. P/S, tilt wheel, console, custom seat belts front and rear, soft ray winshield, auto. This is a Freemont Dec. built car and has its original motor and some paperwork back to the 80s. I did not get a chance to check the tranny or rear yet but looking at the car and its condition I would bet they are original as well. As far as the 67 that just sold on ebay, the guy got a very nice survivor for what I believe to be below its value. It was the first of many that will be sold and I thought it best to let it go for less than its worth to get the blood flowing and start the ball rolling. (that sounds corny) I recieved over 50 emails just on this first car and had 382 watchers. I am going to maybe try and sell 2 cars at a time but with all the emails and time needed to do it I may just stick with 1 at a time. As more cars are ready to be sold I will post info here first so anyone who maybe interested will have the details before it goes up on ebay.

When is the Montero Red/White interior '66 Convertible selling (front/center in photos of all the cars)? Is it a 4 speed? Tripower?

Thanks for your response. The lack of tripower doesn't really bother me. I like that it is a 4 speed. Hopefully I will be in a situation to buy when it is up for sale. That car would be a great garage mate for my Hardtop.

The 66 is not an original red car. I do have an original red with white interior 67 vert.

Hi 65, out of curiousity- what color was that red/white 66 and it is matching numbers? Also is that red/white 67 ragtop a matching number drivetrain?

Congrats on the first sale. That first one is the hardest, it will only get easier from here on out.
If you folks recall the original post; http://forums.maxperformanceinc.com/...d.php?t=675063 I was the first to chime in and my advise still looks good IMO. If the other cars are in similar condition as the first '67 Convertible sold, the collection could bring far more than his original [asking] price of $185,000 for the cars and parts. BTW, that Fathom Blue '67 will be a spectacular car when restored. Good luck with the rest of the sales. |

The 66 is candlelight with white interior and I will have to check the PHS for the roof color. I will check the numbers on the 67 when it comes out. It happens to be number 25 in storage, so it will be a while before it is out and processed for sale. As you recall my original plan was to sell all the cars at once and be done with it. I am enjoying dissecting each car and going through the motions till the sold point. Since I can not restore all the cars, at least I can bring every car one by one back from the dead and help someone else fulfill the dream.

Nice to see the cars emerging.
Hey 6t5, do you have a basic list of the cars- year, color combos, drivetrains- that you might share to whet our appetites?

Sorry I do not have a list. I not able to put the time in to a proper and complete list at this time. If I do I will put it up on the forums.

5 Cars sold
Good weekend. 4 cars sold to 1 guy and the 5th car sold to another person. With the 1st 2 cars sold on ebay and these 5 sold outside of ebay, it is becoming more manageable. I am keeping 3 myself, that leaves about 18 left. Next car is imo is very interesting. 65 convert with a/c and 31 options #s matching California car.
