Maybe it's different in other parts of the country, but there are plenty of Prius owners around here and I haven't noticed that they're any worse or better than any other drivers...the brand of the car doesn't matter, people will be good drivers or bad drivers regardless.

Not saying they are good or bad drivers Stuart...I guess they want to conserve fuel and stay on electric power as much as possible...that's what they bought the P for..I just wish they would stay in right lane and let those of us that get better fuel/gas mileage @ 60-65 MPH roll !!! Especially when I'm towing my 9K 26' trailer on the turnpikes. And sorry to say but if someone Jap braked me...I would probably hit them despite having proper distance....I don't tailgate...just flash lights as a polite jesture to move over please..Rigs don't stop on a dime !! It all boils down to coutersey & respect for others....I'm not judge & jury & pretend to determine their " speed limit"....it's a free country...remember that..even if you Jap brake me...maybe bad judgement (IMO) but it's your right..

The left lane is for NASCAR wannabes that think they're in a race cutting in and out of traffic barely missing the front fender of whoever they just overtook. Oh yeah and NO TURN SIGNALS and tailgating the driver in front of them too thinking the can force them to speed up.

And you thought you were making really great time and I pull up behind you at the first stop sign or light as soon as we exit the thruway, I usually toot the horn and wave at them so they know they didn't gain a thing by all the unsafe BS they pulled......LMAO too...

I just had one of the NASCAR wannabes go around me a couple months ago on an on ramp, he cut over as soon as the 2 pieces of concrete came together disregarding the solid line and hammer down ran all the way over to the left lane and passed about 3-4 cars. This is in a 55MPH construction zone with double fines imposed too. I get down the road about another mile and here's MR NASCAR WANNABE sitting on the side of the road with a trooper just exiting his car walking up to his door...........I just tooted my horn and waved at him........

I just wish it was mandatory for ALL drivers to be held to the same standards that CDL drivers are held to and go through the same classes we attend, the roads would be much more pleasant to drive on.

Professional drivers use turn signals,
Are you an amateur driver?????

lol,if that were so,,traffic would take a 50 % drop in usage from so many flunking the cdl.
at least from what ive seen lately.
and if by some miracle they did pass classes,,,it wouldnt be like what they're used to with 7,9 or even 12 points and still be able to drive.
one ticket and your subject to losing your license.

There's plenty on the roads that shouldn't have driving privileges and it wouldn't hurt my feelings a bit to have some of these fools off the roads.

id love to see all drivers be required to take mandatory drug tests in order to drive
better yet, have all vehicles equipped with driving devices.
you speed,your mailed a ticket
repeat offenders or driving erratic and your car goes in a shut down mode
driving is a privilege and not a right,as most seem to think..

I wasn't posting about a-holes,idiots & agressive drivers in previous post. They are in a class all by themselves....a chitty one! I loath a agressive driver who constantly switches lanes and cuts people off !! Most troopers will tell you the first drivers they will nail are the agressive ones...I have no tolerance for them...BUt then again...I'm pulling a trailer...I must be going way to slow..they got to pass me..

Roll on...just be respectful.....and get the H away from agessive drivers..

actually Sirotta I can agree with you on this , I am kind of glad I quit driving , My biggest pet peeve was I would set the cruise at 2-3 over the speed limit and some butthead would come flying up behind me then pass and pull in front of me and slow down .. WTH?? making me have to come off cruise , and as you know what does that do in a Tanker ?? would just like to be able to Bi**hslap them . after a while I just learned to drive with my lights on and high beam them when they start to move over or tap the airhorn . makes the scoot back and pull ahead .

I haul liquid fuels and our company tells us not to make quick lane changes and if someone brake checks us we're supposed to hit them to avoid a rollover. Companies that haul fuel want no rollovers whatsoever. I however don't agree with that and had I done in one instance what company policy says, I know there would have been a major wreck with most likely fatalities. Someone in the lane about 10 cars ahead spiked their brakes and the only place I had to go is 1 lane to the left. As it turned out it cost them the bracket that the steps are mounted to over the fuel tank and a bumper cover on the car along with fixing the left quarter panel on the car in front of me. 1 more inch and I wouldn't have had any contact at all with that car at all.

Tankers don't like sudden stops or changes in direction, keep that in mind when your around any tanker, not just fuel. Fuel tankers just can have a lot worse results than say a milk tanker.

I really liked the South Park episode where they trashed the prius owners, instead calling the car pious, saying while they are not major air polluters they do however emit SMUG. The wife and I laughed our a$$es off on that one.

The major cause of accidents are driving too fast for road conditions, road rage, not paying attention and just plain lack of skill. Driving school is a joke. They should be teaching "Big rig etiquette" Right or wrong tangle with a big rig and you lose. Period. I haven't had a ticket in over 20 years and have never had an accident that wasn't me getting rear ended by someone NOT paying attention. I drive for a living and get cut off and have inattentive morons pull out in front of me everyday. I learned to just shrug it off and not stress over it.
