I guess I'll have to go see 'em. Hate Michael Anthony's not gonna be there, but at least it's the VH brothers and I do get what DLR's about. IT wouldn't have been (and wasn't) the same without him. I like Sammy, and 5150 was pretty good, but never had the same swagger without Dave. Saw the original lineup many times when I was younger, and it was always a super show.

My fav. band is Led Zeppelin, but no Bonham anymore..

I have seen Aerosmith several times and always left impressed. "Rocks" ('76) is still one of my favorite all time albums. Jack Douglas as producer really "got it". He was also responsible for Cheap Trick, Alice Cooper, James Gang, Montrose (with Sammy) and many others. They're about the only 70's rock band left with all original members.

I like it and its about what I expect for guys their age. I do miss MA on the harmonies. You have to listen to the song without the video. The video is ungodly bad.

The VH boys are pushing 60 and they waited wayyyy to many years to get back together. Tatoo is about the same tone as Jump so not a bad way to start off the album. I'm sure I will buy it and listen to the new album all summer long!

Have seen Van Hagar in 1991 (Carnal Knowledge tour) which was great. Never seen "real" Van Halen (original lineup) so thinking about seeing this tour since Diamond Dave's quite a showman - but not for $895/seat. Maybe something a bit more economical.

Well, I got my tickets for the Bufflalo show. I've seen Van Halen with DLR in '81 and with Hagar in '86. I also saw Hagar solo in '84 and Roth solo in '88. The Roth solo show was the best performance, hands down. Steve Vai, Billy Sheehan and the Bissonette Brothers were absolutely amazing.

I am hoping for the best, expecting a bit less, though...

That late 80's DLR band was awesome, very underrated, and unfortunately, often forgotten. Roth surrounded himself with some great talent. I think he would have lasted longer if it weren't for some of his over-the-top showboat stuff he did on stage. While Roth and his band weren't into glam, they did sometimes appear close to that. Not the makeup, but in their clothes, hair, and puppy-dog like frolicking on stage. A little bit of Motley Crue, a little bit of Poison, and a little too Warrant-like at times.

Fans grew a little tired of the teased and dyed hair look, glittery trenchcoats, and Dr. Seuss-shaped guitars. The time was ripe for a hard core, hard rock band to appear, with no glitz, just a bunch of ugly guys, and serious guitar riffs.

It's interesting to see how varied our tastes our on things... I really like this tune! Of course Roth can't sing, but Eddie still plays just what I'd expect to hear, and this tune is got a great groove, and a great hook!

I know how bad most VH fans wanted a reunion with Dave, but I personally don't know what the fuss was about. I've seen them live with all 3 singers, and there's really no question that Sammy is the best singer. But then again, I could care less who's singing. I just wanna hear Eddie play, and it's great to see him back in action again!

My tickets go on sale next week. I'll be going for sure!

They still have the Van Halen sound, but DLR just kills it for me this time around. Of course, he was one of the best front men back in the 70'a and early 80's, but I can't figure out why he seems to relish being corny, and I mean Pee-Wee Herman-like corny, while fronting a killer hard rock band today.
