The fact that you are putting a lot of thought into a Fathers Day gift speaks volumes about you and your dad. I think just showing this thread to your dad on Fathers Day would put a smile on his face.

Guys don't care when it comes to their kids about material things. I'd like my son to take me to dinner, tell me he loves and respects me, and just hang out with me. At 16 you'll soon be gone and the Cat's n The Cradle spells it out. If you don't follow look it up...

Father's day gift
I'm sure that locally there's a motorcycle dealer that rents them for a day. Dad with son on back going for a ride. Doesn't get any better than that. Jon

As a Dad, I'll tell you that I just cherish anything my kids make. It's ridiculous...It can be a crayon scribble with an "I love you Dab" (Yep, backwards "d") and I want to save it forever.
Can you make him something? Maybe a motorcycle sculpture out of nuts/bolts and stuff from the garage? Or cut out a motorcycle shape and make it into a picture frame? Homemade gifts rock!

The suggestion of making a motorcycle out of nuts and bolts is an awesome idea, but after looking into it, it takes some skills (like welding) that I don't have. So does anyone have any ideas along the same lines as that, but a little bit easier to construct? As stated before, thanks.

Here's a thought. While you and your dad are at the PY show, take him to the PY trailer, or inside the their showroom, and have him look at the t-shirts or hats. Grab one or both of the ones he likes the best. That'll get him more involved with the hobby and they'd be something special for him to wear.
Or take him to a Harley shop... there's one off of 95 up above Philly, and buy him a belt or Harley t-shirt. He'd be proud of that too. I can't rmember the name of the place but I've been there and bought a beautiful Harley belt a few years ago. I don't have my 76 Super Glide any more but I wear that belt as a reminder of the good ol days.

Some more complex than others. And the beauty of it is that you can use them for ideas, but it can't be "wrong". Use what you have around, make it how you like it. I'm sure he'll be thrilled no matter what you decide. The fact that you are putting time/effort into it will not be lost on him.
