Brew and team,
Would love to join you guys too. I'll even help clean up and bring a motorhome for some extra beds. Would be great if we dragged our cars up there for a nice rip through those killer roads.

I'm really starting to get excited for this years TA Nats. I hope Norwood and Brew bring their special friend with them again.
PureSD - you might need to get a bigger motorhome....

I'm not paying this year, lets see how long it takes them to throw me out as a regestered guest of the hotel. LOL

Well, things are looking up for the Nats with pieces starting to fall into place this week. A few quarts of "Apple Pie" hooch have arrived, a few Cubans have also found there way to the Hot Rod Garage, and more importantly the stroked W72 for the Gold Car got dyno'd at Kauffman Racing today and we are pround to announce that a healthy, happy and strong Pontiac Engine was born today.
The engine fired on the second bump and there was little drama or problems. There is a small water pump gasket leak that needs fixed, and the thermostat was stuck and did not work. Other than that it was smooth sailing. The carb was dialed in from the start with a custom kit that Cliff supplied based on the engine specs, and which Dave installed when he rebuilt the carb. No problems with the distributor either. The numbers were peak HP of 474 at 5100 rpm on pull #6 and peak torque of 549 at 3600 rpm on pull # 5. I am very happy with these numbers and can't wait to get the engine in the car and burning rubber... Hope to make it to the Nats. ![]() ![]()

Well that's good news Bob, I don't even smoke but I might have to puff on one of those cigars to celebrate.

I have the correct "flash" chrome covers that will be installed once the engine is in. These are sacrificial covers just in case there is an uh-oh....the flash chrome covers are like hens teeth to find in decent shape and no one has been able to duplicate the process commercially.

For the same reason you probably wouldn't want to put a '71 hood on a '73 Superduty.
