keep in mind that the tomahawk, the HSD and the T2(all with a 1" spacer) will fit a t/a with shaker.....just in case "fine" tuning or NOS comes into play.
ask me how I know.

I spent about 8 hours of work porting the HSD to get the numbers we did...and it did not have the torque curve of the Tomahawk. So if time and money is no object, go to it...run a HSD if you can find one.
Take nothing away from the Performer RPM, but to really make it work you need a 1" spacer. That is what I had to do with the GeeTO TIGER to maximize its performance. I could only do this because of the VFN fiberglass hood. The Tiger is now on display at the Petersen Automotive Museum. When it comes out it is going to get freshend up and we will be running a Tomahawk on the Tiger.

do you feel this intake will flow good enough for a 700 to 800 hp blow through application ?? i need the shorter intake for hood clearance for my carb box or bonnet . i have a wenzler 4 bbl intake now and it is pretty tall how much shorter than a rpm is it 5/8 " shorter?
thanks, rob

The Tomahawk is 1 1/4 shorter than the RPM. And yes with a bigger cam and high flowing heads I have no doubt the Tomahawk will realy start to shine!! Or shall we say it will take the RPM's scalp!!
Be Cool,

I have a HSD that had all the webbing milled off, carb plenum opened up, gasket matched to stock gaskets, crossover divided, and polished. it looked just like the Tomahawk pictured on that dyno chart. I paid 125.00 for it used and spent over 20hrs on it.
I wish the Tomahawk was available 9 mos ago...

Was the 1 inch spacer used in the testing an open or 4 hole?
Thanks KG |

i see this manifold appears to have bosses for multi point injection, yes? or, are those for nox nozzles?
if its for fuel injection, are there any plans to run a test for that?

Open spacer...
Bosses for NOS or FI... ...and yes, great for a blow through application. Slowbird...the HSD was ported. We have confirmation from the factory that 40 Tomahawks will ship on March 30th. Order yours now!

Here is what I got from this.
If the Tomahawk is 1 1/4" smaller then the RPM than running the 1" spacer brings the intake volume back into the fair comparison category. If you add a 1" to the RPM, you would really need to add a 2" to the Tomahawk to be apples to apples in volume. The 1" spacer numbers are really nice and if it comes polished with the FI bungs for $300, its a great deal. Have you considered putting together an EFI package with the Tomahawk down the road?

i have no problems with my rpm and 1' spacer under my hood and my hood is flat. (71 grand prix) i dont run an air cleaner but im sure it wouldnt fit. but i did have an aircleaner on before the spacer and the car was slower. 12.13 with the spacer and no aircleaner compared to high 12.25s without the spacer and with a aircleaner. so besides worry about the carb gettin alittle dirty why the hell would i use an air cleaner. the rpm numbers are very close to the tomahawk and is advertised as the best of both worlds for a street car. alot of street cars gonna run 300cfm heads or the almost 400cfm tigers?? i know im not im still on 250cfm 6xs. you cant beat the price tho especially since i would like to swap to a T2 which now will be a tomahawk instead. they need to be ordered in advance?? thank u

The carb "gettin alittle dirty" is not the point of an air cleaner. The point of a air cleaner it to keep dirt out of your expensive motor.

Lets all not forget Dave Bisshop at SD Performance! He spent 25 hrs making the Tomahawk flow what it flows! If it was not for Dave Bishop this would NOT have happened.
Be Cool,

Yes, a big thanks to Dave Bisschop.
I'm sure Dave appreciates the recognition, especially with his name spelled correctly.
