Crashed Judge update:

rowling: the guy you met at Car Craft was Jim Martini. He owns a 69 RAIV 4-spd Judge and also has a red 70 GTO convertible with rally stripes. Both cars are very nice and both were at the show. The wrecked Judge is not his.

codyyy: FYI the wrecked car is in fact a real 4-spd Judge. I have seen the car, and the PHS.

The owner of the Judge is a nice guy who kept a low profile in the car community. He was actually trying to sell the Judge last year at one point. His grown son (late 20s) is the one who was driving the car when it crashed. He is doing ok but faces a long rehab process on his feet and legs.

The Judge itself has already been sold locally.

Wow that's bad. I kinda figured that it was the guy's son, I figured it was one of three things: either the car wasn't a Judge and some younger guy owned it, the parents paid for it, or it was the parents' car and the kid took it out.

After seeing those photos and having been onscene of many accidents, I thought for sure the person driving would've died. Glad that he made it out alive. Even though the rehab process will be difficult, still better than the alternative.

Yes some know but have decided to not post this information. It's a tragedy all around. Stupid? Heck yes!

Being the father of a 'twenty-something' year old son myself, I'm sure that no matter how bad losing a '69 Judge is, that Father is very happy indeed to still have his son alive.
