David Lee Roth's last two solo albums are fantastic. He came out with The DLR Band and then Diamond Dave. Both are 5 stars in my book. The DLR Band is a real hard rockin style while Diamond Dave is really cool covers and such.

I think Dave is so dam cool its unreal, at that NY gig he was dressed exactly like my grandpa used to back in the 60's. Gotta love it. I hope know one here expects Dave to where neon spandex and start jumping 20 feet doing the splits anymore. He may not hit the high screams like he used to but his octave range blows away Sammy Hagar.

Ditto that! I don;t remember who said it, but if anybody left off at "Some Kind of Monster", that was 10+ yrs ago! Go find Death Magnetic at the used CD store. It's in my CD player as I type this!

As for poor old EVH and DLR, it's Sad But True (ha,ha) they are washed up. That song is the worst pile of steaming crap I have ever heard. Too bad, too. Other bands like Styx, Journey, and especially my fav, Iron Maiden, all continue to tour, some in more original form and others less, but the MUSIC stays true to the band and the band to the music. And mostly give the fans what they want! I have seen Styx 47-teen times since 1998. And without Dennis DeYoung, they are actually a better band (no Babe or Roboto in concert anymore, ya!) Journey has had a few singers and the new guy, Arnel is an incredible singer in his own right, not to mention he sounds just like Steve Perry. And Iron Maiden, there is no comparison. They are better than ever. I saw them in Tampa last year and I'm still coming down from the show.

As for VH, they will be here in Atl on April 19th, my son's 12th birthday. I planned to take him and just bust for the cheap seats. But yesterday I won 3rd row tickets on the radio! I can't wait. The tickets are $170 for the front floor!!!! Jeez, who really wants to pay that much to see old wrinkled dorks? HAHAHA!

One more thing, not to dredge up the old Sammy vs. Dave debate, but Sammy took VH to highs they would NEVER have reached with Dave and never will again!

Ugh, this sucks worse that Tatoo. I am so sad now. If there was ever any question who was a better front man, these two songs drop Dave (nobody else in the band writes lyrics) so far down into the gutter...... makes me think of "Sucker in a Three-Piece" off OU812. Sammy must have been singin about Dave!!!!! HAHAHAHAHA!

THAT SHOULD BE THE NEW VAN HALEN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! EVH is such a dick. Sammy was too popular and stole the spotlight from Eds big freakin' ego. Michael Anthony and Sammy were made to sing together! Mike's vocals were the only thing that made the old classics any good. Dave doesn't sing, he talk-sings. And can't even get out more than every third word in concert. Oh, well, it'll be so loud, you won't be able to tell. It's too bad Wolfie is stuck in his father's shadow. He should be in a new, young, hip rock band like FFDP, My Darkest Days, or Skillet.

That one's classic high school cruising for me.
Sammy was big before VH hit and C-foot is still making better stuff. Some's cheese-puff, but some is really good.

DLR's first two albums/CDs were stellar. "Cherry Blue and Mighty Mouse. Kinda quiet dude and she was supposed to be back at the house, with the kids and the dog.."

Here's where all the guitar licks of the 60s-90s were created. But seriously, especially note from 50 seconds in to the end for some key rock guitar aspects from different players. I can't tell if some is rag-time or speed metal. I see Flamenco, Pete Townsend, etc..

Just listened to the whole album. It's not mind blowing, but not nearly as bad as the first single would lead you to believe. They should have released "She's The Woman" as the single, you can tell it's an original song from way back. IMO it's the best track on the album.

I thought a lot of the album sounded familiar. 4 tracks are based on old demos from the 70's...

So it's nothing new, really, except the two songs that suck... Me Wise Magic and Can't Get This Stuff No More were both old songs. Kind of like the story goes that The Original demo that Gene Simmons took to Casablanca was Runnin' with the Devil and House of Pain (which didn't turn up til Diver Down!)

Guess what I did on Thursday? I won 3rd row tickets on the radio! (did I say that already???)
