Congrats, and I love your car.

I have a question regarding the forward facing hood scoop. How much performance gain is there with it versus the cowl induction hood? or is it more for clearance? IMH(and useless)Opinion, the car looks so much meaner and cleaner without it.

A fake azz racer who lives / works in Newark, DE. He doesn't have a 7 second firebird.

Mike,
Congratulation! Nice run.

From my computer simulation.

60 Foot ET = 1.1882
330 Foot ET = 3.3043
1/8 Mile ET = 5.1183
1/8 Mile MPH = 134.8683
1000 Foot ET = 6.6963
1/4 Mile ET = 8.0337
1/4 Mile MPH = 169.1529

If you come East in the fall and run on that down hill track witch Jeff and Lil Jack use.

60 Foot ET = 1.1621
330 Foot ET = 3.2053
1/8 Mile ET = 4.9547
1/8 Mile MPH = 140.1790
1000 Foot ET = 6.4722
1/4 Mile ET = 7.7585
1/4 Mile MPH = 175.7653

Stan

That might be a bit of a stretch even for "that down hill track which Jeff and Lil Jack use", Stan.

A tenth and a half in the eighth and 5 mph in the eighth?

Hope your computer is right on though.

I applaud Mr Leech for the effort keeping the stock look and stance of the firebird. At those ET's there must be some trade off's.
I always liked the look of the old school Dog House. And it gives Mr Leech another place to sleep.

Congratulations Mike, quietly knocking on the 7-second door.

I like the fact that you do most of the work on the car yourself, getting all those changes done in that short amount of time and getting to the track for testing shows your dedication and I applaud your efforts.

I see some 7.80s coming soon after things get sorted out.

Good luck, Bart
