Nothing new to report this week. As I have said, Norman only works on my car on weekends and the last few ones have been bad. We got 6"s of rain last weekend! I haven't called him since last week but I need to tell him about my decision on the pinstripe.
I would e-mail him but, he is like some of my other friends and doesn't do the computer thing.

Maybe old Norm is sitting in a bar where everyone knows his name?

I took the front bumper to Norman yesterday so he can take it and the rear one to the chrome plater.
i don't know if it means anything or not but, he did buy the exterior paint. He showed it to me and I'll have to admit he is using the best paint that Wal-Mart has to offer. And, he didn't scrimp on the other stuff either. He bought fine bristle brushes for the detail work and high dollar foam rollers for the big areas. ![]() I helped him take the trunk lid back off so he could re paint underside after doing some work on it. Now, it's just a matter of time. One question, how long before paint will go bad in the can?

Was it Glidden Ultra Hyde? At least he isn't using chip or solder flux brushes.
I'm beginning to sense a little frustration. Hang in there. |

Well, we can send our old newspapers to him if that will help in masking things off. Might save ya a dollar two ninety eight.
Looks like he celebrated St. Paddies Day away from the shop. Must have been all the green he was seein and didn't want to ruin the day with that dark aqua. Me thinks you and Charles had better get together and have a 'paintin bee'.

Well, I am another week closer to getting my car back!
I need to start thinking about cleaning the shop out to make room for it.I did win an e-bay auction for the windshield trim and it turned out better than described. It only needs a little polishing to be ready. With shipping it cost $116.66. Here are the updated totals. My Labor @ 449 hrs..........$8,980.00 Parts ...........................$13,875.96 Outside Labor .................$8,301.00 Gifts .............................$2,791.25 Total ...........................$33,442.21

No news to report this week. I am going to see my car next weekend and take it an Easter basket. I wonder if they make Mariner Turquoise egg dye?

Now, I am starting to think about getting a little frustrated. Last week I helped Norman take the trunk lid off and we found a few small imperfections on the body. He has fixed them but the car is still not painted. The interior is sanded and ready to shoot but Norman still has some final priming to do on the exterior before he can apply the final paint.
And, since I am going to the chrome platers the 18th of this month I picked up my bumpers. My buddy is restoring a 55 Nomad and is taking parts to the chrome shop then so I am going to take a day off and ride with him. I have my eye on an AM radio on e-bay but I think a $150.00 starting bid is a little high. Here's a link. What do Y'all think? http://www.ebay.com/itm/200740114229...84.m1423.l2649

FWIW-
I agree with Old Blue. The radio is in nice shape, but I got a decent AM radio for my '67 for $76 and then had it converted to AM/FM/MP3 by S & M Electro Tech for $400. It will be like new and a lot more useful. Just my $.02...

Nothing new to report. I am going on a road trip Wednesday. Three of us are taking parts to the chrome shop in Dallas, Ga. From there we are going to Calhoun, Ga. to pick up parts for my buddy's 55 Nomad. Then it's up up Cleveland, Tn. to visit an upholstery shop, again, for my buddy's Nomad. If we have time we may come back to Commerce, Ga. to YearOne and look at the 17" rally IIs.
All told we will be traveling about 6-700 miles in one long day!
